The Y&R spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 9, 2022, brings Nikki Newman calling out Victor Newman over his leaving her out of the loop yet again. Plus, Jack Abbott offers Adam Newman a huge new opportunity, Nick Newman laments his family troubles with Sharon Rosales, and Sally Spectra moves forward with new ideas at Newman Media.
At Newman Enterprises, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) finally got the details about what happened the night Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) died — from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). She wasn’t pleased to hear that Victor (Eric Braeden) kept her out of the loop.

Back at the Ranch, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) gave Victor yet another opportunity to come clean. He told his father-in-law the information he had so far in his investigation. Victor didn’t see the reason Chance was even bothering with looking into things, but Chance warned Victor that he wouldn’t be backing down. Victor didn’t seem too concerned.
Nikki went straight home, and she confronted Victor about failing to keep her in the loop. He surprised her by telling her she was right. The two realized that they should always have each other’s backs.
At Society, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Adam (Mark Grossman) caught up with each other. They talked about how once again, the Newmans ousted Adam, and Jack had a marvelous idea. Why doesn’t Adam come work at Jabot? After all, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) just left, so there’s a spot open.
Adam didn’t think Jack was serious, but Jack assured him he was. Just as he was considering it, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) walked in, and the two younger men traded barbs. Ultimately, Adam left, and Jack informed his brother about the job offer. Billy was less than thrilled with the idea.
At Crimson Lights, Nick (Joshua Morrow) told Sharon (Sharon Case) that he clued Victoria into what Victor did. Sharon actually gave Nick some insight by discussing how it felt when they thought Nikki had killed J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). That seemed to help Nick understand a bit about why his father complicated things by moving Ashland’s body.
Sharon suggested Nick take a break from his worries, and he decided to go for a run and then watch TV with Christian Newman. Outside, Adam tried to open the door, but it was locked, and he looked inside, seeing his brother and Sharon talking.
At Newman Media, Sally (Courtney Hope) found it difficult to concentrate on Chloe Mitchell Fisher’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) ideas. She kept thinking back on her time with Adam, which Chloe was all too familiar with, so she suggested an exorcism and sage to help get the bad juju out, but Sally promised she didn’t need that.
Chloe’s big idea included some comic book and video game tie-ins, which Sally loved, and she moved forward in trying to secure some new talent. Then, Sally scared Chloe with some details about what she hoped to do with the Ashland Locke story, and she suggested they put together a draft explaining exactly what happened…hmm, where has that backfired before? Sally might need to get some advice from Billy.
