The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, August 25, 2022, brings Chelsea Lawson crossing the line — again — with Billy Abbott. Plus, Summer Newman Abbott and Kyle Abbott worry about their parents while Adam Newman makes some shocking decisions that are sure to affect his future, and Kevin Fisher demands answers that he’s unlikely to get.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Kevin (Greg Rikaart) knew Adam (Mark Grossman) was behind stealing his messenger bag and laptop. He showed up at Adam’s hotel room, demanding the man return it. Of course, Adam just kept his smug look on his face and lied to Kevin, even when the man came in and saw Adam’s henchman.

Unfortunately, even though Kevin knew the truth, he didn’t have a legal way to search through Adam’s room for his missing Genoa City Police Department laptop. After Kevin left, Adam’s henchman broke into the computer, giving Adam the details of the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) investigation.
Kevin had no choice but to tell Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) what happened at Adam’s, declaring that he’s screwed. At the same time, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) got into it at Chancellor Park. They went back and forth about who meant the most to Adam, and it only ended when Chelsea got a message to meet Billy (Jason Thompson).
Sally went to work, and Chloe was in a state. She yelled at Sally over Adam, and then she spilled the beans about what Adam did to Kevin, which left Sally horrified. However, she didn’t deny that Adam had done exactly what Chloe and Kevin thought he did, and Sally wondered what her ex would do with the information he gleaned from the laptop. Right about that time, Adam called up Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to suggest a meeting that the detective would certainly want to take.
Young and the Restless: Parent Trap
Summer (Allison Lanier) met with her mom at Society. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) thought it’d be for some girl time, but she quickly realized it wasn’t. Instead, Summer further questioned her mom about Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales). Phyllis still managed to play it off even though Summer had actually connected the dots and realized Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) met with Talia because of Diane (Susan Walters).
Billy stopped by their table, and he asked Phyllis if she’d signed the paperwork for Chancellor-Winters to buy The Grand Phoenix. She seemed flustered, and Summer advised her mom to give it a bit more thought. Instead, Phyllis quickly signed the paperwork, surprising her daughter and Billy.
At Jabot, Diane kept up her little ploy of running all her work by Jack (Peter Bergman). Unfortunately for her, he was onto her moves and told her to start going straight to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Fortunately for Diane, Jack went ahead and looked at her offering, and of course, he loved it.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) happened to spy his mom and dad looking a bit cozy, and he quickly went in to interrupt things. Then, Kyle confronted his mom, wanting to know just what she was doing in his dad’s office. Diane admitted she wanted Jack’s advice, but Kyle called her out on going to him when she works for Marchetti and not Jabot. Then, he told Diane to stop flirting with Jack.
Later, after Adam had stopped by to turn down his job offer, Jack called out Kyle for his interruption. He asked Kyle to stop babysitting him because Jack is a big boy who can handle his own life. Jack insisted that he is always on guard when it comes to Diane, and he advised Kyle to focus on his beautiful life.
Kyle took his dad’s advice to heart, and when Summer showed up worrying, he told her it was time for them to focus on other things. She ultimately agreed since neither of them could prove their mothers had done anything. Of course, at that moment, Phyllis was at The Grand Phoenix calling Talia to talk about her deep dig into Diane.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: One Last Podcast
Chelsea showed up at Billy’s, hoping that he’d changed his mind about being a “corporate drone.” Sadly for her, he hadn’t. However, he wanted them to do one last podcast, and while Chelsea wasn’t keen on the idea of continuing the podcast on her own, she was down for doing another episode with her partner.
Ultimately, they bounced around ideas and arrived at ‘keeping your passion throughout your life.’ Things got sentimental, and Chelsea leaned in, shocking Billy with a kiss. She’s notorious for crossing the line, and it looks like New and Improved Chelsea™ isn’t quite so improved.
Coming Up Next On Y&R Spoilers: Lily’s Problems Pile Up
Coming up next on The Young and the Restless, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) steals the spotlight — again. You can expect that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will be less than impressed with his cousin’s latest business move. In fact, there’s no doubt that Nate’s actions will further increase the tension at Chancellor-Winters, which will cause Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) even more grief and worry about the family business. One thing is certain — she’s figuring out that keeping work all in the family isn’t quite the smooth sailing that she’d hoped it would be.
Speaking of Lily’s concerns, she’s sure to feel some fallout when her boyfriend and right-hand man, Billy, gives Chelsea some mixed signals in the wake of their surprising kiss. Be sure to check out Friday’s daily Y&R spoilers breakdown below to find out everything that’s happening tomorrow.
