The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, April 29, 2022, brings some secrets shared between Sally Spectra and Adam Newman, and after he’s feeling the love. However, Chelsea Lawson isn’t feeling it. Neither is Kyle Abbott when it comes to his not-so-dead mother Diane Jenkins. Victor Newman concurs.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) was distracted while she and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) tried to work. Eventually, Chloe told Chelsea that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) had died of a heart attack instead of that crash. Surprisingly, that left Chelsea feeling way less guilty even though she may have caused his heart damage with the poison last year.
Adam (Mark Grossman) and Sally (Courtney Hope) came in, and Chelsea dropped the bombshell new details in Rey’s death, much to Chloe’s annoyance. Then, Chelsea tried to get Adam to plan a family outing with her and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), but Adam wouldn’t commit. Not surprisingly, Chelsea got all huffy because she felt that Adam wouldn’t say okay because Sally was there. Chloe told her friend she was overreacting and focusing too much on Adam.
Adam and Sally went to a table where they talked. Sally ended up telling Adam the whole sordid tale of her faking an illness to keep her man in Los Angeles. Adam stunned Sally by admitting he admired Ashland for getting away with his big cancer lie for as long as he had. He even admitted that he’d faked a medical condition once upon a time.
The duo bonded over their similar baddie pasts, and then Adam dropped the “falling in love” bomb on his girlfriend. Well, you sure left a girl hanging long enough, Adam. The couple left, clearly in love, and Chelsea gave them the side-eye. She seemed to have some type of plan.
After going through the pros and cons, Kyle (Michael Mealor) asked his dad to contact Diane (Susan Walters) to set up a meeting. Jack (Peter Bergman) went to Diane, and he begged her to please put Kyle first for once. She tried to get Jack to admit that maybe she’d changed, but he refused.
Of course, she wanted to meet Kyle at the Abbott mansion instead of her cold hotel room, and Jack did allow for that. However, Kyle let his dad know that he didn’t want Diane around his son at all, which made good sense. Jack promised that he and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) would take Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) on an outing.
Then, the doorbell rang, and Kyle opened it, coming face to face with Diane after all these years. Cue the sad eyes.
Also, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) meet her at Crimson Lights. Victor expressed his concerns about Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle), but Nikki had someone else on her mind. One Diane Jenkins. Wait what?!? Victor was understandably surprised to hear the woman was alive and had faked her death. Boy, this was the last thing the Newmans need after all the recent drama.
