The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, October 12, 2023, brings a big break for Nick and Sally because of Adam’s kiss.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Victoria and Adam clashed, and she worried Nate was siding with her youngest brother. Nikki introduced Claire to Victor, and later, Claire helped Audra out with a negotiation idea. Victor called Adam the wrong name, and he and Nate thought Victor’s behavior was strange. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: A Break
In her suite, Sally (Courtney Hope) tried to talk business with Nick (Joshua Morrow). However, she noticed he seemed completely off. He wasn’t listening to her at all, and Sally called him out.
It seemed Nick’s mind was elsewhere, so they discussed Adam kissing her. He worried about Sally telling him she was falling in love with him just to make him feel better. Nick hated dwelling on it, but he couldn’t get it out of his mind.

Sally was frustrated that Nick questioned her feelings, though. He just wanted her to be honest with him. They argued about Sally’s feelings for Adam. She noted Adam could push his buttons, but Nick wondered if his ability to push her buttons happened because she still loved him.
Ultimately, Nick told Sally he couldn’t go through all of it again. He walked out, leaving her in tears.
Young and the Restless Recap: Sibling Rivalry
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) snarked at Adam (Mark Grossman) after he reported to an impressed Nate (Sean Dominic) about completing his day’s work, which included mundane assignments. Adam wanted Victoria to accept him at face value, but she didn’t see the value in that. Nate seemed impressed.
After Adam left, Victoria worried that Nate was falling for Adam’s con. However, Nate saw no point in antagonizing Adam. He suggested that Victoria do what she could to keep the peace until Adam slipped up on his own.
Nate assured Victoria that he was willing to be whatever she needed. After he left for a conference call, Victoria remembered complaining to her mom about Victor’s strange business moves lately. Before she could leave, Nick walked in. She asked about his time with their father, noticing he was off his game. Nick thought she was imagining things, and they argued about her trust issues with Adam.
Victoria felt isolated, missing her mom and not trusting Adam. She asked Nick to return to Newman, accusing him of leaving just to prove a point. He wouldn’t return but agreed to spend time with their father. After she left, he got a beer, ignoring Sally’s call.
Y&R Recap: First Impressions
Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) met Victor (Eric Braeden) at the office, and it went well. Later, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) praised her, and Claire noted how she’d studied Victor in business school. Audra (Zuleyka Silver) walked in with news about an acquisition, and Nikki asked Claire her thoughts on the negotiations, but Claire hesitated. Ultimately, she gave an idea, and Nikki liked it, but Audra wasn’t so impressed.
Audra left, and Nikki and Claire talked more. Nikki noticed she was an old soul, and Claire was a bit evasive about her upbringing and being an only child. She preferred to focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past.
Audra returned, confirming that Claire’s tactical negotiation suggestion had worked. Nikki left to see about finances, and Claire said she hoped she hadn’t crossed a line, but Audra assured her it was fine. They talked about Claire’s dream job, and Audra expressed excitement for the future. Later, Audra looked up Claire online.
Adam stopped by Victor’s office, admitting he didn’t like his new job but had asked for it. Victor joked about dry cleaning, hoping Adam wouldn’t indulge in his destructive habits again. Nate showed up, and Victor accidentally called Adam “Nick.”
Out in the hall, Adam and Nick wondered about the name mix-up, and Nikki joined them. They told her what had happened. Nikki went into the office and questioned Victor about it. He claimed it was intentional, and when she wondered why he would do that, he chuckled and smiled.
