The Y&R recap for Tuesday, November 29, 2022, brings a surprising twist after one father tries to help his daughter. Also, a couple finds itself at odds, friends reunite, and so much more. You won’t want to miss a thing that happened.
Y&R Recap Highlights
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wanted to know what Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) did to hurt Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) learned to navigate their new normal. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) let Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) know he distrusted him, and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) made future…business…plans with Nate. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) had an unproductive discussion, and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) got some unexpected news from Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and later, a shock from Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Now, let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Love Hurts
Victor saw Chance at Crimson Lights, and he instantly wanted to know what the younger man had done to Abby. Chance asked his father-in-law exactly what he’d been told, and Victor said that he wanted to know what had happened. Chance didn’t feel at ease with revealing the details, so Victor said he’d ask Devon since Abby had greeted him warmly the other day at Society.
Chance commented that he was glad Abby had somebody to lean on during their difficult time. Victor said that every marriage had difficult times, but you made it work (um…sure, just like Victor). Ultimately, the younger man revealed that Abby thought Chance was putting work above family, and Abby didn’t like it. He also admitted that they probably got married too soon, so it was time to let the marriage end.

Victor wondered what Chance wasn’t telling him. Chance refused to tell Victor any other details, and he expressed he was sorry that Abby was hurting. Victor wasn’t pleased with that explanation, and he reminded Chance of his promise that he’d put Abby on a pedestal. Victor also reiterated that family is everything.
At Devon’s, Abby dropped off Dominic, and she addressed the elephant in the room — things felt awkward and weird. Devon suggested that they “talk about us,” and Abby looked surprised. They caught up with each other, and Abby admitted that she skipped out on Thanksgiving with her family to avoid questions about Chance.
Devon declared that Chance wouldn’t just throw away their marriage, but Abby said Chance was adamant that things were over. Abby said she was happy that she and Devon could still be open and honest with each other. They agreed to make sure that what they did didn’t ruin their friendship or interfere with how they raised Dominic.
Abby worried that Chance could be right and that he couldn’t give her what she needed. Devon admitted that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) had returned in the first place to tell him she planned to spend more time in Virginia with her family, and he declared that some relationship breakups were just inevitable.
Of course, if she hadn’t slept with Devon, Abby wondered if she could’ve worked things out. Devon did regret hurting others, but he didn’t regret what happened between them because it made sense. Just then, Dominic started crying.
Abby showed up at Society, and Chance was there. He informed her that he’d kept their secret when Victor confronted him. Chance declared that he had no intention of embarrassing her, but he did ask Abby to move forward with the divorce immediately.
Y&R Recap: New Jobs And New Ventures
Nick showed up in Nate’s office at Newman Media. Nate tried to engage, but Nick flat-out let him know that he was angry at Victoria for firing Sally and giving Nate the job. Nate was only complimentary of Sally’s efforts at Newman Media, and he admitted that Sally didn’t deserve to be let go. Nick reminded Nate that the job landed in his lap because he was willing to sacrifice their family.
Nate insisted that Nick didn’t know everything, but he said he looked forward to proving to Nick that he was still a good person. Nick wished him luck, but he also pointed out that getting into the big chair was rarely enough because power corrupts and people always want more. Nate reminded Nick that he wasn’t raised to run a huge business like Nick was. Nick still said he didn’t trust the man that Nate had become, and he thought it was sad.
Victoria showed up, and Nick departed. Victoria picked up on the tension between the two men, and Nate let her know that Nick said he didn’t trust him after what happened at Chancellor-Winters. Victoria noted that Nick shouldn’t have said that, and she changed the subject to how much Nate had impressed everyone. She asked him to go with her to a meeting in Los Angeles next week, and he said yes.
Chloe barged into Sally’s hotel room, full of ideas about their next venture. Sally bluntly let Chloe know that she turned down Nick’s funding offer…without discussing it with Chloe first. Chloe wasn’t at all happy with Sally’s choice. Sally explained that she didn’t want to start a fashion line, and Chloe wondered if they were “breaking up, ” but Sally invited Chloe to work with her on her new venture.

Chloe thought maybe Sally wasn’t thinking clearly, given all the reasons she should say yes. Despite that, Chloe agreed to work with Sally on her newest adventure in business. Chloe worried that Nick took it badly, but Sally said he was okay with it.
Y&R Recap: Confessions And Clashes
In her apartment, Chelsea replayed Victoria’s voice telling her to stay away from Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind). Billy knocked on the door and came inside. He tried to calm Chelsea down, and they chatted a bit about Thanksgiving. She said she was okay, but Billy called her out on pretending. He offered to do whatever he could with her, and he reminded her not to push him away.
Chelsea admitted she’d had dark thoughts with nowhere for them to go. Billy reminded her that Chelsea hadn’t had the most stable life, and she agreed. He pointed out that her brain thought she was in danger even when she wasn’t. Billy encouraged her not to let the pain lead, but she reminded him that it was easier said than done.
Billy said that Chelsea’s recovery was a long-term thing, consisting of baby steps. He reminded her that she’d had a great talk with Johnny, and Billy let Chelsea know that he and Victoria were following Johnny’s lead. In the middle of their talk, Billy got a text from Lily because they were meeting at Glam club. Billy continued his pep talk, and he advised Chelsea to get in touch with Chloe.
Later, Chloe showed up, and she wondered how Chelsea ended up living above Crimson Lights. Chelsea explained that she’d been hospitalized. Chelsea declared Chloe stronger than her, and she said she wished she had Chloe’s strength. However, Chloe said that pain wasn’t a competitive sport and that she shouldn’t compare. Chelsea admitted that Billy literally saved her life. Chloe was stunned to realize her BFF had wanted to die. The friends hugged and reiterated their plans to stay friends.
At Glam club, Billy met Lily, and she wasn’t all that thrilled that Billy had checked up on Chelsea, and she pointedly said that she needed Billy and wanted a chance to talk. Lily tried to get deep, and Billy checked his phone, which annoyed Lily even more. She snarked about Chelsea being Billy’s new life focus.
Lily declared that Billy was distracting himself with Chelsea as a way to feel better about leaving Chancellor-Winters. Billy was aghast at Lily’s words, and he couldn’t believe she was going there. Even so, Lily said that Billy wasn’t pursuing his passion or letting himself take responsibility for anything. Lily told Billy that Chelsea would struggle to rebuild her sense of normalcy if she had to navigate around him.
She accused her boyfriend of using Chelsea’s problems to avoid the company. Lily declared Billy was being who he always is — chasing his next high. This time Billy’s high is being “Billy, the savior.” He accused Lily of being judgemental and petty, and he said he’d stop before he said something he regretted. Billy pointed out that Lily isn’t being honest about how she felt about him leaving the company, and he said he expected more of her.
Lily didn’t appreciate being made the villain, but he blamed Lily for being mad that he left Chancellor-Winters. He accused her of wanting to be his savior, and he wondered where that left her when he didn’t need saving anymore.
