The Y&R recap for Wednesday, November 2, 2022, brings disturbing news, a big reveal, and questioned judgment for residents of Genoa City. You don’t want to miss it!

Y&R Recap Highlights

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Abbott (Allison Lanier) came home and were disappointed when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) told them that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) both lied. Diane tried to get information out of Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) while Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) told Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis the latest dirt on Diane. Finally, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) staunchly supported Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and later even Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Let’s take a deeper look at the episode.

Young and the Restless: Lying Moms

Kyle and Summer showed up full of excitement about their trip to Costa Rica. Of course, Ashley happened to rain on their parade by alerting them to the fact that something big came up with Diane because Jack hadn’t told them. She left Jack alone to tell them, and he relayed that Tucker and Diane had been involved in Los Angeles.

Summer was upset that Diane had lied about how shocked she was by Tucker crashing their vow renewal. Kyle questioned Jack’s source, and he dropped the bombshell that it all came from Diane. Kyle furiously declared Diane worming her way back into his life and Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) life was unforgivable. He also furiously declared his mom a liar. Jack let his son know that Diane had no choice, though. He explained the whole thing, and Kyle seemed to soften.

Jack dropped a bombshell that Diane told the truth because Phyllis and Nikki had been digging and talking to Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales). Summer seemed angry that her mom lied too. Kyle said he felt torn, but Summer said she was pissed.

Diane saw Tucker at Society, and she put him on blast. Tucker apologized for coming off as threatening the other day after Diane revealed she’d told Jack their secret. Tucker told Diane that she’d gotten ahead of her problems, and he noted that he’d lost half of what he wanted, but he forgave her. She said she didn’t buy his forgiveness for a moment, but she wondered what the other half of his dream was.

Diane mentioned to Tucker that she’d never been able to get Jabot’s financial statements, but he reminded her she didn’t. Diane couldn’t believe Tucker would take Jabot from Ashley, but Tucker said he wasn’t taking Jabot away from Ashley. She wanted to know what Tucker planned, but he refused to tell her. Instead, he taunted her about wondering where the next threat was coming from.

At the ranch, Victor played chess online with Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) while she was away at college. Ashley walked in, and both Victori and Nikki greeted her pleasantly. Ashley got right down to business, though. She confronted Victor about Tucker’s return and asked what he knew. He claimed it was all up to Nikki. Phyllis walked in, and Victor commented how amazing it was to see the three women’s unlikely alliance, and he wished them luck before leaving.

Nikki and Phyllis were thrilled to learn about Diane’s association with Tucker. Phyllis declared that they had Diane. The women celebrated “getting rid” of Diane, and Nikki declared they performed a public service. However, Ashley warned that there had to be more to why Tucker returned. Phyllis eagerly wanted to hear how Jack reacted. Ashley relayed that Jack was conflicted, and Nikki and Phyllis were aghast. She said Diane played the victim and told Jack she had no choice.

Ashley predicted that Jack would forgive Diane, and Phyllis and Nikki said that wouldn’t do. The two women asked Ashley what she’d learned from Tucker, but she admitted she hadn’t learned anything helpful. Phyllis declared she was going to take care of things and ensure Diane didn’t wriggle off the hook.

Phyllis showed up at the Abbott mansion, and Summer wasn’t at all happy. She said she wanted to see Jack, and she noted that they didn’t seem happy. Summer confronted Phyllis, but she refused to be painted as the bad guy, and she pointed out she was right all along.

Y&R Recap: It’s All About Sally

Sally tried…again…to call Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about her job, but she left a message. Adam stopped by to try to find Chloe to ask about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), and Sally alerted him to the fact that she wasn’t working at Newman Media anymore. Adam was stunned, and Sally admitted she was worried about Chloe losing the job. Sally offered to give Adam’s message to Chloe, and she wondered if Chelsea was okay. Adam said he was just looking for her.

Before he left, Adam pointed out that Sally was talented, and her firing didn’t make any sense. Sally chalked it up to not being able to easily figure out the Newmans. Adam said Sally deserved better, but she had a reasonable attitude about the whole thing. Adam complimented her on the grace with which she handled things. Then, Adam wondered if Nick had anything to do with her firing. Sally warned Adam not to trash Nick.

Ultimately, Adam reminded Sally that Victoria let her go because of her former association with Adam. He offered to try to help her get a job at Jabot or Marchetti, but Sally declined. Adam wished her luck in moving forward.

At Newman Enterprises, Nick pouted around about Victoria firing Sally. He wasn’t in a good mood, and he told her she should’ve put Nate somewhere else. Nick blamed his sister for trying to erase Adam from Newman entirely. Victoria tried to get her brother to fess up to his relationship with Sally, but Nick insisted he was upset about losing a talented employee.

Nick insisted that his relationship with Sally had nothing to do with work, but Victoria disagreed. She pointed out that if Nick and Sally were involved, which would mean a big battle between him and Adam. Nick took his sister to task for using his relationship with Sally to justify hiring Nate.

Victoria defended her choice and said Nate was right for Newman Media, and Victor walked in, noting that he agreed. Victor said he agreed with Victoria hiring Nate because he’d been loyal to the Newmans. Victor told Nick to forget about whatever he had going on with Sally, and he blamed Sally for turning Adam against the family by feeding into his resentments. Also, Victor worried Sally would do the same to Nick.

Nick went full out in his support of Sally. He blamed Victoria and Victor for letting their personal feelings color their business decisions, but Nick claimed his personal life was personal.

Later, Adam was at Crimson Lights trying to reach Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and Nick walked in. Adam berated Nick for firing Sally, and the two brothers argued back and forth about Sally. The woman herself walked in, and she wanted to know if there was a problem. Nick wanted to know how Sally was holding up, and Adam mocked his brother.

Adam left, and Nick hoped that Sally didn’t believe anything his brother had said. Sally said she didn’t, and she told Nick something difficult for him to hear. She let Nick know that she didn’t want his help — or Adam’s for that matter. Sally declared she’d figure out what comes next on her own.
