The Y&R recap for Wednesday, November 16, 2022, brings an extraordinary offer from a one-time enemy, another shocking offer that might be unwanted, some introspection from a town pariah, and so much more. You don’t want to miss a detail of this pivotal episode.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) offered to save the day for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson), but Sally wanted to keep her personal and professional lives separate. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) didn’t quite agree with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) on what to tell their son. Speaking of Chelsea, she got to leave the facility, and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) were there as her support system, with Sharon making Chelsea an extraordinary offer. Now let’s take a deeper look at what happened.
Adam saw Chelsea at the facility. She let him know that she was being released. He seemed surprised she felt ready so quickly, but Chelsea reassured him that she was doing well and no longer having any thoughts of harming herself. He wondered where she would live, but Chelsea said that she would figure it out.
The subject of Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) came up, and she said she wanted to tell him the truth. However, Adam asked her to please hold off a bit because Connor is so sensitive. Chelsea pushed back some, but Adam implored her to please do it slowly. Chelsea agreed, but she said that they had to arm him with the truth about what happened. Her therapist even agreed, but Adam asked if maybe they could talk to her therapist together.

Chelsea felt that Adam had made his decision and didn’t want to tell Connor the truth. Adam revealed he worried that Connor would feel he pushed his mother to what happened. Dr. Marone (Anna Khaja) came in, and Chelsea asked Adam to respect her decisions, and he agreed to do that. He offered to return to pick her up later, but Chelsea said Sharon was coming along with Billy, and Adam seemed nonplussed, even though he said all the right things.
Chelsea told Dr. Marone how Adam felt, and she seemed agitated. Chelsea admitted she knew that Adam only wanted what was best for Connor. Dr. Marone said the biggest concerns were Chelsea and then Connor. Chelsea assured her doctor that she was ready to deal with the difficult conversation with her son, so Dr. Marone wanted to discuss the best way to tell him. She explained that Chelsea should open the dialogue in a safe environment for the little boy. Dr. Marone praised Chelsea for all the hard work she’d done over the past several days, and she encouraged her to reach out for help.
Sharon updated Billy that Chelsea was being released. He wondered where Chelsea might live, and Sharon had an idea. The Newmans offered Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) the tack house at the ranch, so she thought Chelsea could live in their old apartment above Crimson Lights.
Billy was stunned at Sharon’s generosity, and he wanted to ensure she’d really thought it through. Sharon said it wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right thing. Adam walked in, and he let Sharon and Billy know that he’d seen Chelsea. Adam wanted to talk to Sharon alone, but Sharon said they all needed to work together as a team. Billy agreed that they were all on the same side. Adam said he was confused because he and Chelsea had previously agreed to wait to tell Connor, but now she wanted to tell him.
Sharon revealed she planned to offer Chelsea the apartment, and Adam hoped his ex-wife would accept the generous offer. Adam asked Sharon what her take on telling Connor was, and she tried to defer to Chelsea’s therapist, but Adam asked her for her unbiased take. Sharon said it was important to be open and honest with Connor and tell him the truth if Chelsea felt ready. Billy added that he agreed.
Adam and Billy went out to the patio, and Adam thanked Billy for saving Connor’s mother’s life. He declared he was eternally grateful, but Adam wanted to know what his continued involvement in Chelsea’s recovery meant. Adam asked Billy what he wanted out of it, and Billy declared he wanted Chelsea to be better and happy. Billy said he’d promised Chelsea to be there for her in any way that she needed, and he would make good on the promise. Adam asked how Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) felt about it, and Billy told him that wasn’t any of his business.
Adam worried that Billy was just telling Chelsea what she wanted to hear regarding telling Connor. Billy said he didn’t know how to handle it, but he suggested that they take their cues from Dr. Malone.
Later, Billy and Sharon went to pick up Chelsea from the facility. They ended up at Crimson Lights, and Chelsea wasn’t quite sure how she felt about being back, but she wanted some tea. Sharon and Billy told Chelsea that Sharon wanted Chelsea to move into the upstairs apartment if she wanted. Chelsea was shocked, and she wondered how Sharon could offer her that after all she’d done. Sharon insisted she wanted Chelsea to rent the space, and Chelsea agreed to do it.
They went upstairs, and Chelsea couldn’t believe that Sharon and Billy had done so much to help her. Sharon left to go help Mariah at the tack house, and she and Billy talked. Chelsea worried that she was taking Billy away from Lily too much and wondered if Lily knew everything. Billy admitted he kept things vague, but Chelsea told him he needed to tell Lily the truth.
Adam returned to the facility, and Dr. Marone let him know Sharon and Billy had picked up Chelsea. The doctor reminded him how much support Chelsea would need, along with lots of help. Later, Adam ended up in Chancellor Park, reliving many of the words people said recently about how toxic he’s been. He also remembered how things went south when he tried to win Sally back during their meal atop the Grand Phoenix.
Sally and Chloe met at Chancellor Park. They batted around several ideas for what to do next regarding work. Chloe wanted to take Nick up on his offer of help, but Sally didn’t want to. Of course, Nick walked up, and Chloe started pitching him ideas, which he said he was interested in hearing.
Chloe tried to convince Nick to talk Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) into giving Sally a second chance, and Sally was mortified. She asked her friend to dial it back to zero ASAP! Nick admitted he didn’t ask favors of Summer or get involved in her business. However, he offered to give Sally and Chloe a loan to start their own fashion label. Chloe immediately accepted, and Sally made her stop. Chloe got a message from her babysitter, and she begged Sally not to make a decision without her.
Nick and Sally spoke alone, and he admitted that the whole plan was a spur of the moment and not some grand plan to make it up to Sally for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) mistakenly firing her. Sally thought the loan sounded like a colossally bad idea, and Nick said all the best things in his life started that way. He changed the tone and asked Sally out for drinks, and she accepted.
Chloe showed back up, and Nick said they should discuss his offer, and he left. Chloe urged Sally to accept the loan, but Sally said she didn’t want to be in anyone’s debt. She worried about what would happen if things between her and Nick didn’t work out. Chloe encouraged her friend to take her personal feelings out of the equation. Ultimately, Sally declared she had to keep her personal and professional life separate. Chloe still pushed Sally to not say no yet.
Nick showed up at Society, and Adam was there. Adam offered for Nick to join him, but Nick said he was meeting someone. Adam realized it was Sally just before she walked in and saw the brothers.
