The Young and the Restless Recaps: Monday, August 8

Despite his misgivings, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) okays Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) hiring of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Strict ground rules are laid out for future colleagues Phyllis and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters)… Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) sees hints of the Diane of old.

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) gives Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) ample opportunity to confess that their father played a part in the staging of Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death; neither sibling proves helpful… Victor disabuses Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) of the notion that she may have that he was involved in Ashland’s plight.

Young and Restless Recaps: Tuesday, August 9

Victoria fills Nikki in on what exactly transpired the night that Ashland died. Victor reveals exactly nothing to Chance. Nikki takes Victor to task for leaving her out of the dark yet again… Jack extends a job offer to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman); Billy is incredulous… Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) strategize; Sally shares her desire to have a full account of Ashland’s final moments in the books.

Y&R Recaps: Wednesday, August 10

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) proposes Kyle employ Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks)… Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) stokes Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) ill feelings towards Devon Hamilton (Bryton James)… Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) confides in Devon about her worries over Nate and the cousins’ obvious estrangement.

Billy cautions Phyllis against seeking revenge… Phyllis and Nikki have a falling out when the former accuses the latter of not contributing to their scheme to oust Diane from Genoa City.

Adam pointedly tells Abby about Chance’s dogged determination to ferret out the truth surrounding Ashland’s demise. Kyle sells Summer on Mariah’s Tessa as an ambassador for Marchetti’s idea; Tessa proves harder to convince… Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) suggests arranging a playdate between Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and Johnny Abbott; Billy hedges. Talk turns to Chancellor/Winters and the company’s multitude of podcasts – including The Grinning Soul and the one that they co-host.

Sally is stumped when Elena and Nate broach the subject of Elena’s contract with Newman Media and her desire to break it; arrangements are made. Elena bristles over Imani’s machinations and Nate’s refusal to see the schemer for who she is.
