The Young and the Restless recaps for April 25 – April 29, 2022, feature little in the way of actual drama, but plenty of disappointing answers, some soul searching, and just a bit more.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) attempts an outing and narrowly avoids a run-in with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). After being pressed by Nikki, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) confesses that Diane is alive and well and temporarily ensconced in a room at The Grand Phoenix. Nikki demands a face-to-face with her rival.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) decides to honor Celeste Rosales’s request: Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will be buried in Miami. Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Abby Carlton Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) offered Sharon their condolences… Despite their reservations, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camyrn Grimes) conceded that they should indeed press on with their May 13 wedding date.
Jack imparted some stunning news to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor): his mother is alive… Nikki accepts neither Diane’s apology nor the reason she provided for faking her death… Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) paid Sharon a visit. Afterward, she and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) shared an awkward cross.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) encouraged Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to visit Sharon, but Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) put him off the idea… Victor is dubious when Victoria claims she’s through with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman)… Nikki put Ashland on notice.
Kyle struggles to reconcile the mother he knew and the monster many in Genoa City remember her to be… Tessa asks Sharon to stand up for her at the upcoming wedding, and Mariah asks Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) to walk her down the aisle; both parties happily accept.
Diane sneaks out of The Grand Phoenix and makes her way to Crimson Lights. She’s put out by Mariah’s presence – possibly because she’s a dead ringer for the very dead Cassie Newman – and the news about Rey’s passing. Phyllis Summers (Michell Stafford) chides Diane on her field trip.
Adam helps Sharon achieve catharsis… Chance reveals that Rey died at the wheel of his car – the victim of a heart attack… Ashland’s culpability in Rey’s death is debated by several Genoa City-ites.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is none too pleased to learn that he’ll be forced into the limelight alongside Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)… Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) continues her none-too-subtle pursuit of Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Kyle agreed to meet with Diane, and Jack arranged for the said meeting to take place at the Abbott manse… Nikki filled Victor in on Diane’s status… Adam and Sally both confessed to having faked medical conditions in their respective pasts. Adam concedes that he’s fallen in love with Sally; their ardor greatly offends Chelsea who’s in the know about Rey’s heart attack thanks to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson).
