The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, March 10, 2023, brings a big plan for Summer as she tries to push Sally Spectra toward her Uncle Adam.
In addition, Nikki asks Michael and Lauren to do some work on the upcoming bicentennial, and then she puts Michael in a difficult position. Speaking of difficult, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick struggle to work together for Sally and the baby’s sake. Finally, Chloe and Sharon ask Chelsea and Billy pointed questions…separately. Now, let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Summer (Allison Lanier) met at Society. Summer admitted that she worried about her dad and Sally (Courtney Hope), and she dropped the baby bombshell on her grandmother. As Nikki got worked up, Summer revealed that the baby wasn’t Nick’s…instead it was Adam’s.
Of course, Summer asked Nikki not to tell Victor about the baby, but she didn’t like the idea of keeping her husband’s latest grandchild a secret from him. She ultimately agreed, and Summer gave her grandma the details of Sally and Nick’s continuing relationship. The women agreed the whole thing was a disaster.
Nikki and Summer conspired to come up with a way for Nick to walk away from Sally before it all got more complicated. Summer’s idea was to ensure that Sally fell back in love with Adam, and Nikki agreed it could possibly work. After all, it was a service to two people who belonged together…right? Nikki pointed out that Nick is charming, so they’d have to have a lot of luck involved.
At The Grand Phoenix, Nick (Joshua Morrow) updated Sally on his discussion with Summer. She apologized for causing problems between Nick and his daughter, but he said he was close with Summer.
Sally turned the talk to her job, and she had more ideas for how to impress Jill (Jess Walton) to win over Chancellor-Winters. Nick offered to take her to properties in the Newman Jet, but she turned him down, opting to fly commercial.
Adam (Mark Grossman) walked in, and he had a proposition about the baby. He wanted to help Sally and their baby get settled, so Adam offered to buy Sally a house since a hotel is no place to raise a baby. He wanted to help give Sally everything she’d dreamed of having as a child.

Sally turned down Adam’s generous offer, and she told both Nick and Adam they were both trying to do too much. She wanted to make her own decisions for travel, living, and everything else. She left the brothers alone to go to work.
Adam and Nick sat at the bar to discuss how to handle the situation. They both agreed that they couldn’t cause Sally any aggravation. The brothers wanted some common ground since they would both be involved with Sally and the baby. Nick didn’t know how they could make it work, but he said they were capable, so they could come up with something.
Adam pointed out he’d never considered something like Sally’s pregnancy would be the thing that brought them together. Of course, they had lots in common, not the least of which was their father, Victor. Nick let Adam know that acquiring McCall wasn’t a done deal, and he said he’d like to see Adam run the company on his own. The brothers were on the same page, but Nick warned Adam not to underestimate Victoria.
At Society, Sally ran into Nikki and Summer, and Nikki didn’t offer her congratulations on the big pregnancy news. Sally admitted that she was caught off guard by the pregnancy, and Nikki had too many things to say, so she kept them to herself.
Nikki left, and Sally sat at the bar, but Summer asked her dad’s girlfriend to join her. It seemed Summer wanted to apologize. Summer told Sally she wanted to find a way to get along since she was part of Nick’s life now. Sally seemed open to that, too, so she agreed to meet Summer halfway.
Summer asked how Adam took the news, and Sally admitted he was excited to be a father again. Of course, that wasn’t what Summer wanted to know. She wondered how Adam took Sally and Nick staying together, and Summer noted that Adam could be relentless when he wanted something.
Sally said Adam was behaving himself, but Summer thought it had to be hard for the mother-to-be. Of course, Sally wondered if there was more to Summer’s sudden change of heart. Summer said her dad had pushed her to be a better person, and she didn’t want to disappoint Nick.
Sally could appreciate Summer’s position. Even so, Summer still had reservations about Sally and her dad because of how great Sally and Adam were together. Summer said that Sally and Adam seemed destined to be together.
At the ranch, Nikki welcomed Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) into the living room to discuss the bicentennial celebration gala — 200 years since the founding of Genoa City. Nikki asked the couple to work as a team to handle the catering, and Michael was thrilled to taste every dish.
Interestingly, the gala would be a masked ball…somewhat like the costume ball with Katherine as the Queen of Hearts. They talked about who attended the last ball and who they dressed as. Nikki promised a more toned-down event.
After they talked about the party, Nikki wanted to know about Tucker and his company. Michael wasn’t thrilled, but he did let Nikki know that he had nothing new to report. Nikki revealed Victor’s plans and how they clashed with Victoria’s. It seemed Nikki wanted to avoid adding any more tension between their children. She asked Michael to help her stop the deal with McCall Unlimited.
Michael didn’t want to be caught in the middle of the whole thing, and whatever happened to McCall after the acquisition was above his pay grade. Lauren wasn’t happy that Nikki tried to put Michael in that position.
At her apartment, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) excitedly walked Billy (Jason Thompson) through her plans for the video game. He loved it, and feelings between the two got intense for a second, but a knock at the door interrupted the moment. Chelsea opened it to find Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson).
Billy left to give Chloe and Chelsea some time alone. Chelsea played a gracious host to Chloe, who told her friend she had obviously interrupted a moment. Chelsea denied it, though, but Chloe wanted Chelsea to be honest. Ultimately, Chelsea said she didn’t know how to define it, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to. They were both getting feelings, though.
Chelsea explained how Billy made her feel. Chloe reminded her that she’d been engaged to Billy before, and she noted it didn’t work out because Chelsea didn’t love him with her whole heart and soul. Chloe wondered if it was really the beginning of love or something else.
In the end, Chloe hoped she hadn’t upset Chelsea, and the latter agreed she was just being a good friend. Chelsea wasn’t willing to overlook the connection she felt with Billy.
Downstairs, Billy ordered a drink from Sharon (Sharon Case), and he updated the coffee shop owner on Chelsea’s new project with Daniel’s gaming platform. Sharon brought up Billy and Chelsea’s growing closeness, and he admitted he was following her advice.
Sharon opened up about her past situation, which was a lot like his, and Billy thanked her for sharing because it was helpful. Of course, Billy pointed out that his and Chelsea’s story wasn’t like her and Adam’s. He revealed that whatever he and Chelsea had felt right.
