The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday brings Lily Winters making Devon Hamilton an offer that doesn’t sit well with him.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Lily (Christel Khalil) and Jill arrived at a decision, but Devon didn’t love it. Abby did her best to show Devon the upside, though. Mariah and Tessa returned full of news for Sharon. Finally, Victoria wasn’t exactly happy after a family dinner with Johnny, Connor, Chelsea, and Billy. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Lily Winters And Devon Clash

Devon (Bryton James) wanted to know what Lily and Jill decided about him buying back Hamilton Winters. Lily said Jill wanted to move forward with the initial public offering and that their strength was in the unity of the two companies. Devon realized that Lily and Jill were rejecting what he asked for.

“Cool. Then, I guess you’re going to make this ugly,” he said.

Lily told her brother things didn’t have to get ugly and that she and Jill wanted to keep the companies intact through the IPO, rebranding Chancellor Worldwide. Once the dust settled, she and Jill would buy out Devon, and he could recreate Hamilton Winters. She felt it was a win-win for everyone.

Devon didn’t see how the proposal benefited him at all. He pointed out that Lily and Jill weren’t giving up anything in the deal, but Lily said she was giving up her chance to work with Devon. She warned her brother that a court battle would affect their relationship, and she was trying to salvage things. Devon didn’t appreciate being forced to choose.

He said that they were having a professional disagreement that Lily made personal. Devon didn’t want to start from scratch even though Lily said that her brother could fix things that had gone wrong the first time. She begged him to consider the option she’d presented so that they could make their dad proud.

Lily Winters and Billy Abbott clear the air at Society.

Lily went to Society and saw Billy at the bar. He urged her not to be awkward. They made some small talk, and Lily said she was dealing with some difficulties at work, but she reminded him that it wasn’t his problem. Billy admitted that he still cared about her and wanted to support her. He offered to be somebody she could lean on. So, Lily obliged, and she told him a bit of what she was dealing with.

Billy (Jason Thompson) pointed out that Nate was right when he said Devon wanted to be a lone wolf, and Lily (Christel Khalil) said she was now the lone wolf. She revealed that she doubted her leadership skills, but Billy said she shouldn’t. She admitted she had no regrets and that she was proud of what she accomplished. He let her know she had a golden opportunity because she was at her strongest when her back was against the wall. He declared Lily would emerge more successful than ever.

After Billy left, Lily sat at the bar alone, drinking wine. She looked at a picture of herself with Neil and Devon on her phone and teared up.

Y&R Recap: Good News And Bad News

Abby showed up at Crimson Lights, and she asked Sharon for coffee and her forgiveness for making a scene with Chance the other day. Sharon understood how difficult it was for a marriage to end and had no judgment for Abby and the situation.

Mariah and Tessa blew into the coffee shop, and Sharon immediately wanted to know how things went with the potential birth mother. They first filled in Abby all about Delphine. They explained that they spent lots of time getting to know the woman, and their trip was wonderful. Ultimately, Tessa and Mariah excitedly revealed that Delphine wanted them to adopt her baby, and Sharon and Abby were thrilled. The newlyweds reminded everyone that Delphine could still change her mind at any time, but they were working to prepare to become parents.

Sharon offered hot chocolate, and Tessa went to help her. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) noticed Abby seemed off and offered to talk. Abby reiterated that she was happy for Mariah and Tessa, and she revealed that she and Chance didn’t work things out and were divorcing. Mariah was so sorry to hear that but she reminded Abby that she and Chance would be a family and amazing co-parents to Dominic even if they weren’t married. Abby left, wishing Mariah and Tessa the best.

Abby Newman Abbott gives Devon Hamilton good news.

Abby (Melissa Ordway) showed up at Devon’s, and she gave him the good news about Mariah and Tessa’s potential adoption. He felt heartened that good things were happening to someone. He updated Abby about Lily and Jill’s offer. She reminded Devon that empires had been built on less than what they were offering, and she enumerated the positive — making Lily happy and starting something brand new.

Devon pointed out that the company was his connection to Neil, though. Abby wasn’t so sure, because Neil would always be a part of everything Devon did. She urged him to make his decision on how he saw his future instead of his feelings about the past. He admitted that he wasn’t sure what he saw in his future.

Abby asked some pointed questions about what he loved about Hamilton Winters and what a new company might be. Devon admitted he might fail, but she reminded him he might soar and said he wouldn’t be facing his future alone. He noticed she’d taken off her rings, and he reminded her she wouldn’t face the future alone, either.

Sharon gives Mariah and Tessa advice.

Back at Crimson Lights, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah told Sharon all about their visit with Delphine. Sharon ensured that the father knew, and Tessa said he was on board with giving up all his parental rights. They discussed all the details, and Sharon reminded them that Delphine chose them. They also said they wanted to have an open adoption. The biggest news, though? The baby was coming by the end of February.

Victoria Newman Feels Uncomfortable About Chelsea And Johnny

Upstairs at Chelsea’s, she welcomed Johnny and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). The two boys talked about school and homework as Chelsea thanked Victoria for letting Johnny come over. She got a text from Billy about the pizza being late, so Chelsea asked Victoria if she had a minute to talk.

Victoria admitted to Chelsea that she’d wanted to refuse the invitation for Johnny to go to Chelsea’s for pizza. However, she said yes because she knew that Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) would want to have a meal with Connor. Even so, Victoria felt uncomfortable with the situation, but she said she continued reminding herself it was about Johnny and not her.

Victoria worried that things moved too quickly, even though Johnny accepted things. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) understood how Victoria felt, and she admitted she was grateful for the effort Victoria was making. She praised Victoria for being a good mom to Johnny, and she said they were on the same side.

Billy smiles as Chelsea opens the door.

Billy showed up, and he seemed surprised to see Victoria there. Chelsea and Victoria assured him that everything was fine, and Chelsea asked Victoria to stay and have pizza. The boys came in, and Billy let them know that they were supposed to give their honest opinion about Society’s newest pizza offering.

They sat around, enjoying their meal. Connor suggested that Katie come next time because she was Johnny’s sister, and they were having a family dinner. Victoria left to pick up Katie from ballet, and Billy offered to drop Johnny off after he and Connor (Judah Mackey) watched a movie. Chelsea wondered if Victoria was okay, and she said she was, but once she closed the door, Victoria looked unhappy.
