The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, July 12, 2023, brings a new beginning for Devon and Abby, and even a brewing war from Adam can’t bring them down.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Lily (Christel Khalil) and Daniel enjoy her new place. Summer gets some good news from Chelsea. Adam doesn’t give Sharon a no about her business merger idea, and Sally encourages Nick to accept Adam’s offer. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: A New Start
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) reminisced about their happy times in the penthouse. They went to Society to hand off the keys to Lily. She loved that they’d left some champagne for her, and Devon wondered how frequently Daniel would be at the penthouse. After Lily left, Abby worried he’d gone too far with the question about Daniel, but Devon reassured her that he’d merely given his sister a little nudge.

At Crimson Lights, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Sharon (Sharon Case) debated the merits of merging their businesses. He didn’t think their goals lined up, but Sharon made a pretty good case. Adam didn’t say no, and Sharon thought they’d be great partners…still he didn’t quite say yes.
Adam showed up at Society, and he talked to Devon and Abby. He congratulated them on moving into the Chancellor mansion, and he wondered what Lily was doing with her old place. They encouraged him to ask her. Abby and Devon were surprised to learn Adam had plans to take over Newman Media. Considering what Nate had done to Chancellor-Winters, Adam thought they’d be pleased. However, Devon let Adam know he didn’t want a war.
Young and the Restless Recap: New Beginnings
Nick (Joshua Morrow) stopped by Sally’s (Courtney Hope) hotel room. She encouraged him to consider Adam’s job offer. Nick debated the pros and cons of that idea. Sally let him know about Adam’s letter, and while she wasn’t willing to reach out to Adam yet, she felt Nick’s brother had been raw about his loss. Sally continued to suggest that Nick consider being there for his brother for his own sake and not just hers.
Downstairs, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) had just seen Lily before she left to meet up with Devon and Abby. Summer showed up, and they talked about how infuriating their mom was. She updated Daniel on Kyle working with Audra now, and she worried about Harrison’s future.
Summer made her brother promise not to mess things up with Lily, and he agreed. They both suffered some issues in their relationships, and they vowed to do better at holding onto the people they love.
Daniel went to the penthouse and surprised Lily with the champagne Devon and Abby had left when she walked in. They put on one of Neil’s records and kissed before heading upstairs to enjoy her new place.
Y&R Recap: New Opportunities
At Chancellor Park, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) talked with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about the new job at Marchetti. Chloe encouraged her friend to take the offer. Billy (Jason Thompson) showed up and wanted Chelsea to make the job switch for her sake and Chloe’s. Chelsea wanted to run it by Connor first since he’d been struggling since losing his sister.
Later, Chelsea talked to Connor (Judah Mackey). She explained that the job might mean they’d have less time together, but Connor thought she seemed excited about the job and urged his mom to take it. He wanted to have pizza later to help her celebrate. When Billy came back, Chelsea let him know that Connor was good with her taking the job.
Chelsea texted Summer and let her know that she was interested in the job. Summer was happy that at least one thing was going right for her.
At Crimson Lights, Nick told Sharon he was considering working with Adam. She let Nick know she’d suggested to Adam that they merge companies. She thought it’d be great so long as he and Nick didn’t end up killing each other working together.
