The Young and the Restless recap brings a big decision from Daniel Romalotti that doesn’t make Summer very happy.

Jack and Diane enjoy being back home together, but Kyle (Michael Mealor) worries about Summer. Ashley greets Harmony despite their history with Tucker. Devon makes a decision about his last name, and Lily and Malcolm are thrilled. Nate avoids telling the truth about Elena, while Victor and Nikki help remember Neil. Y&R Recap: Summer Isn’t Happy Diane Is Home
Kyle happily hugged Diane (Susan Walters) as Jack (Peter Bergman) looked on smiling. Diane thanked Kyle and Jack for sticking by her. She worried how Summer would feel seeing her at home, but Kyle reassured her.
Jack told Diane that Tucker had moved in, and Diane was appalled. As they discussed it, a dejected Summer (Allison Lanier) walked in, and she wondered what Diane was doing there. Kyle explained she got out on bail, and Summer wondered if the cops had gotten more information, but they hadn’t.

Diane told Summer she understood her being there was a shock, but Summer wasn’t open to hearing it. She told Diane she was responsible for Phyllis being gone. “It’s not fair,” said Summer. Summer told Kyle and Jack she was happy for them but that she couldn’t celebrate Diane’s return.

Diane told Summer she couldn’t leave the property due to house arrest, and Summer couldn’t believe that Diane would be there 24/7. Kyle advised Summer to find a way to co-exist for Harrison. Summer got a text from Daniel, and she left in a rush, leaving Kyle stunned. He was upset that Summer kept pushing him away, and Jack advised him to be there for her when she got home. However, Kyle left to try to find her instead.
Jack and Diane sat on the couch, and he was thrilled to have her back home. She wondered if he was okay, and he assured her that he was.
Young and the Restless: Remembering Neil
Harmony (Chene Lawson) explained to Devon (Bryton James) that Tucker (Trevor St. John) had arranged for her to be at the party. Devon was surprised to hear it and thanked his dad for doing it. Harmony and Devon caught up, and his mom told him Ana was touring.
Tucker and Victor (Eric Braeden) talked, and Victor let him know he had big plans for McCall Unlimited. He complimented Tucker on bringing Harmony to see Devon. Abby (Melissa Ordway) greeted Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and they gushed about the party.
Nate (Sean Dominic) showed up, and Nikki was surprised to see him back from Los Angeles already. Abby wondered where Elena was, and he said she couldn’t make it. Victor stood up and spoke about Neil being his friend. He pointed out that Neil had done a great job raising Devon and Lily (Christel Khalil). Victor raised a glass to Neil and his memory.
Devon and Lily thanked Victor for his kind words. Abby hugged Victor, and Lily walked away. Victor told Devon how proud he was to have him as part of the Newman family. Nikki told Daniel (Michael Graziadei) how brave it was for him to come, and Sharon (Sharon Case) agreed. However, Daniel said he was handling it well.
Devon walked up as Nate was looking at Neil’s photos. Nate found it hard to believe it’d been four years, and Devon said he was glad his cousin had come. Devon wondered about Elena, but Nate said he’d come straight from the airport.

Nate found Lily, and he complimented her on the evening. She thanked him for coming on such short notice.
Sharon and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) sat down, and she asked her mom about Harmony and Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) animosity. So, Sharon explained that Tucker and Harmony “had a moment” when Ashley was married to Tucker.
Harmony thanked Tucker for getting her there, and they talked about what a great son they had…no thanks to either of them. Tucker mentioned Ashley, and Harmony said she hated the mistake they’d made that hurt her.
Abby told Ashley how special Tucker made the evening by inviting Harmoney. Of course, Abby figured her mom wished he’d done something else. Ashley decided to say hello to Devon’s mom. She, Tucker, and Harmony talked about all that had changed and stayed the same since the last time Harmony was in Genoa City. She wished Tucker and Ashley the best.
Young and the Restless Recap: Daniel Romolatti Makes A Decision
Daniel flashed back to Summer, telling him Phyllis was alive, and Lily realized something was bothering Daniel. He insisted that he was there for Lily, but she urged him to open up. He said he was feeling guilty. Lily reminded Daniel that he’d make it through it, and she knew that he’d do the right thing. He said goodbye to Lily, and she said she was going to New York to see Charlie the next morning.
Nikki and Sharon gushed about being grandma, and Victor told Mariah that she and Tessa could have full use of the Newman grounds. Later, Mariah said goodbye to Abby and Devon. Victor and Nikki also said goodbye. Tucker and Ashley also talked to Devon and Abby before leaving, and Devon thanked his dad for ensuring Harmony was there.
As Devon, Abby, Harmony, and Lily sat around talking about Neil, Malcolm (Shemar Moore) surprised them all. Devon reintroduced Malcolm to his mom. Nate walked up and hugged Malcolm. Harmony noted that Neil had learned from his own mistakes and always had hope in a better tomorrow.
Harmony talked about how Neil raised Devon after she failed him, and Devon was a world away. He said he’d just decided something he needed to do. Devon said he wanted to take Neil’s last name legally and go by “Devon Winters.” Malcolm said that Neil would say “my man,” if he was there. Lily was thrilled to hear it.
Harmony said she was staying at the Athletic Club, and Malcolm had to catch a flight. Nate said he was getting a room, too, because he was too tired and didn’t want to disturb Elena. Everyone left Lily, Devon, and Malcolm alone, and they spoke about Neil and how proud he’d be of his children.
Young and the Restless Recap: Daniel Romalotti Says No
Summer met her brother at the park. She wasn’t happy he’d chosen the part, but Daniel didn’t care what Summer wanted. Daniel said that he had been at the jazz lounge for Neil’s party, and he was unhappy that so many people offered her their condolences. He couldn’t stand lying to everyone, and he said he couldn’t continue lying. Daniel declared that they were going to find Phyllis and bring her home.
