The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, January 25, 2024, brings an unexpected proposal from Audra for Nate (no, not that kind).
Also in this episode, Chelsea and Summer made plans. Chance thanked Billy for his mentorship. Devon realized something was up with Heather and Daniel, but Abby asked him to stay out of it. Eventually, Heather and Daniel agreed to hit pause. Now, let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Nate (Sean Dominic) found Audra (Zuleyka Silver) having lunch at the GCAC dining room, and she snapped at him. They talked, and she explained her plans to take over Jabot hadn’t worked out. Nate wondered why Audra had ever thought that would work, and he assumed Tucker had left her out in the cold. She took offense to Nate’s judgy tone and claimed she thought she could control the situation. Nate pointed out that Audra was better off not tied to Tucker.
Audra worried that her career at Newman wouldn’t last, and she admitted that she might have overstepped. Nate wanted to know more, and she wondered why she should confide in him, especially since he hated the Newmans. He said that wasn’t true, while he didn’t like the way things ended, he cared about the Newmans. Also, he was a friend and mentioned Nikki’s sobriety, which surprised Audra.

At Marchetti, Summer (Allison Lanier) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) talked about the latest designs, excited to reach out to the fashion magazines. Chelsea noticed Summer was in a good mood, and Summer admitted things in her life were going well. Chelsea wondered if Summer was talking about romance and Chance (Conner Floyd).
Summer insisted that she had nothing to do with his breakup with Sharon. Even so, she was excited to see where things with him went next. They realized they had similar plans with the men in their lives, so Chelsea suggested they go pick up Chance and Billy (Jason Thompson) from work together.
At Chancellor-Winters, Chance thanked Billy for taking him under his wing. Billy’s help made Chance’s transition to the corporate world a smooth one, and now, each day when he woke up, Chance felt inspired and ready to work. Billy asked if Chance’s personal life was going as well as his professional one. When Summer and Chelsea showed up, Billy suggested a double date, and Chance agreed.
Chelsea, Summer, Chance, and Billy walked past Nate and Audra, which caused the latter to get quiet for a minute. Later, Audra revealed that her father was an alcoholic, and she recognized the signs. She said offering to help Nikki might have been a step too far, and she felt she revealed too much about herself. From now on, Audra vowed to stay purely professional. Nate thought she might be paranoid, but she suspected Nikki would keep her at a distance because she could see she was flawed.
They went upstairs to her suite, and Audra announced that her new plan involved Tucker. (Remember when Tucker revealed his big plan?) Nate didn’t like hearing that, but she made it clear she wasn’t teaming up with Tucker. Instead, she planned to turn his game back on him. She wanted to get control of Glissade and asked Nate to help her. He asked why he would be interested just as he was getting back with his family. She pointed out he would never get any further at Chancellor-Winters. Nate didn’t see it that way, but she said they could work as equals and beat Tucker at his own game. Sitting on his lap, Audra asked if Nate could see the potential.
At Society, Abby (Melissa Ordway) noticed that Devon (Bryton James) was distracted and staring at Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather (Vail Bloom). Devon suspected something was going on between them. (He’s not the only one.) Abby suggested they leave it alone, but Devon didn’t want to. Abby changed the topic back to her joining the board.
At their table, Heather asked Daniel if he felt uncomfortable with Devon and Abby there. He said they weren’t doing anything wrong but couldn’t deny what they’d done. Daniel made it clear that he didn’t regret sleeping with Heather. They felt they were meant to be together.
Heather wondered what they’d do next. Daniel was conflicted because he didn’t want to be a cheater (too late!). She tried to help him justify it by reminding him he’d gotten back something he’d lost. Even so, Daniel worried about hurting Lily and wanted to talk to her before Devon could. Heather said she hadn’t returned to Genoa City with an agenda to seduce him but that he became the man he loves again.
Daniel left the table after Heather touched his hand, which Devon did see, and asked Devon if they could speak in private. When they stepped aside, Daniel admitted what was happening with Heather was real, and he wanted to tell Lily. Devon was surprised but appreciated Daniel’s honesty.
Meanwhile, Abby asked Heather if Devon was right to worry that she would get back with Daniel and break Lily’s heart. Heather assured Abby that no one wanted Lily hurt. Daniel and Heather returned to their table, and Daniel explained that he filled Devon in, and he understood. Of course, Daniel wasn’t ready to tell Lily while she was out of town. Heather wondered what it meant for them, and Daniel said they needed to put things on pause until he could inform his girlfriend.
