Chelsea Lawson having a nervous breakdown is kind of a bi-annual thing on The Young and the Restless. She feels wronged by society at large, convinces herself no one has ever been victimized like she has been victimized, obsesses on a random person, and when that random person doesn’t react exactly the way she wants them to, commits some crime which she then blames on being sads.
Rinse, repeat, roll eyes. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is obviously on that path yet again. So did Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) actually have a point when he suggested she get out of Genoa City and pull herself together — before she causes more damage?
Oh, yes, absolutely, 68% heave a sigh of relief that somebody finally said it. She claims to care about her kids, but Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) doesn’t need her in this state, and Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) has made it clear he’s not interested in getting to know Chelsea. So focus on yourself for a while. And make yourself worthy of those boys.
Don’t be so selfish, 18% of the audience has a different take on the situation. A mother can’t waste time thinking about herself. Every moment should be focused on her children. Johnny may not want to speak to Chelsea now, but he could change his mind at any moment, and Chelsea should be standing by at all hours when he does. No indulgence here!
Depends on where Chelsea goes, 14% counter. The last thing she should do is spend any more time with her mother. The woman raised Chelsea to be a con artist who uses people to get what she wants. Not the right mindset from which to launch a mental health initiative.
