Summer and Kyle Abbott have broken up before on The Young and the Restless. She even left him at the altar once. But, when they finally tied the knot – off-camera – in Italy, they seemed committed to each other.

Summer even refers to Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) as “her” son and “their” family. But that was all until Phyllis decided to use Summer in her plot to bring down Diane. Now Summer is lying to her husband right and left. Does she even still love Kyle?

Summer (Allison Lanier) has made her choice, 6% are sad to report. And she has chosen Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) over Kyle (Michael Mealor). Just look at how she’s lying to Kyle in order to protect Phyllis, with no thought about how Kyle will feel about it. This marriage obviously cannot be saved.

Summer is just confused, 34% defend. Who can blame her, after the gaslighting Phyllis has put her through? She’s been convinced that if she doesn’t take Phyllis’s side against the world, her mother will be put in jail. Worse, she’ll never stop whining about it. Summer isn’t thinking about what she’s doing to Kyle. She is too busy worrying that she’s not doing enough for Phyllis.

Y&R: Mom’s the Word

Summer still loves Kyle, 60% of you insist. But that doesn’t mean she has to turn her back on her mother. Kyle doesn’t need Summer right now. At least not as much as Phyllis does. It’s a matter of priorities. Is Kyle trying to prove he killed in self-defense the man who tricked her into faking her own death in order to frame Diane (Susan Walters)? No. No, he is not. Kyle is perfectly fine. His mommy and daddy are about to get married. Kyle couldn’t be happier. Phyllis is in trouble. So Summer has to prioritize her.
