Young and the Restless Low: Did Lily Winters Go Too Far in Hiring Amanda?

The gloves finally came off on The Young and the Restless. Lily Winters and Devon Hamilton finally said everything they’ve been keeping pent up about their current conflict. And they chose to do it in public. There was lots to unpack.

But one particularly sore point of contention was Lily (Christel Khalil) hiring Amanda (Mishael Morgan) to represent her against Devon (Bryton James). Did she go beyond the pale with that one? Here’s what almost 2,000 fans think about the situation.

It’s Just Y&R Business

Well, who else was Lily supposed to hire, 22% of you ask, quite reasonably. Genoa City isn’t exactly crawling with competent lawyers. Michael (Christian Le Blanc) is Victor’s (Eric Braeden) errand boy now. Christine (Lauralee Bell) did such a terrible job with Dominic’s surrogacy contract that the poor kid keeps picking up new parents. And Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose) never even took the bar! Amanda was the only option. Anyway, it’s nothing personal. Just business.

Lily Winters: You Go, Girl

Then again, an almost equal 23% of the audience is cheering Lily on. There was no better way to get under Devon’s skin. Not only is Amanda the best lawyer around, but she will be, oh so motivated to make Devon suffer. That’s what you want in a lawyer. She’s a shark. With extra motivation.

Ultimately, though, 55% are mad at Lily. She should be sensitive to her brother. Just because she wants his company doesn’t mean she should be attacking him personally. If this were really about business, she wouldn’t have dragged his ex-girlfriend into it. The one that looks exactly like his late wife. The one Lily hit with her car. And killed. (Hilary was also pregnant.) That is quite a can of worms she opened up there. One that nobody was really asking for. Especially not Devon.
