Young and the Restless’ Big Chair: Who Should Run Newman Enterprises Now?

Published by

The CEO-ship for Young and the Restless’ Newman Enterprises has been switching hands like a hot potato over the past year. Victoria Newman had it. Adam Newman had it. Rinse and repeat.

Young and the Restless Polling

If they can’t make up their minds, we’ll do it for them. Soap Hub asked Y&R viewers who they think should steer the ship and almost 4,000 viewers voted on who should get to sit in the big chair:

Y&R: I Earned It

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) may see Adam (Mark Newman) as the threat he levies against the children he actually loves — the ones he had with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), but 49% of the audience has had enough of him being jerked around. Let him stay CEO and leave it at that!

Young and the Restless: Don’t Want It

Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) made a big show of walking away from his family’s company to prove he’s his own man. Which is why 18% of the audience needs Victor to force him to come back and be in charge. That’ll show him that no one gets to think for themselves as long as Victor is around!

Y&R: Me and Mine

Oh, just run it yourself, Victor, 13% opine. You know you want to and no one will ever be able to live up to your standards anyway. You gave retirement a valiant effort but it’s time to realize that you’ll never accept anyone else running your company.

Young and the Restless: President For Life

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) once blackmailed Daddy into giving her the position, and 10% figure that contract still stands. Besides, she did what she had to do to get the money back. Doesn’t she deserve something for her efforts?

Y&R: Stranger Danger

We are so sick of this, 5% of fans sigh. Just bring in a professional with no personal ax to grind and let them deal with it — so we don’t have to.

Young and the Restless: Mother of Dragons

Nikki is sick of her family squabbling too, 4% remind. Which is why she should take over and make them all stop whining. She’s watched how Victor works all these years. Surely, he won’t complain all the time about how she runs things if he wants to have a happy life, right?

Last Chance

Barely 1% eked out a vote for Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) combined. If Summer’s qualified to run a major fashion house and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) thinks her brilliance is worth investing in, surely Grandpa Victor will want to match Jack’s offer. As for Abby, does Victor even remember she exists?
