Would Kay Chancellor Have Wanted Victoria To Own Her Y&R Company?

Victoria Newman feels perfectly justified in scheming to take over Chancellor-Winters on The Young and the Restless. As she explained to Nate Hastings, Kay Chancellor could have left her company to her son, Tucker McCall, or her grandson, Devon Hamilton, or her step-grandson, Chance Chancellor, or even to Chance’s grandmother, Jill Foster Abbott. But she didn’t.

She left it to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Because he’s a better human being than any of the above could ever be — put together. Sure, Victor sold the company to Jill (Jess Walton) without a second thought about what Kay (Jeanne Cooper) would have wanted, but in Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) mind, that’s proof that Kay wanted her life’s work to be a part of the Newman Empire. Is Victoria right?

In a choice between Victoria and Devon (Bryton James), 77% of fans believe Kay would have preferred her grandson to be the one in charge. She just didn’t leave him the company because…she wanted him to figure it out for himself.

And Newman Enterprises does…things. The only things Devon knows about are music business things. Maybe Victoria would be the better caretaker for Katherine’s legacy.
