Jack Abbott just let Kyle Abbott know that his mother is still alive on The Young and the Restless. Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers and Nikki Newman were taking turns telling Diane Jenkins why she wasn’t welcome in Genoa City.

Young and the Restless Polling

But is that the truth? Perhaps Kyle (Michael Mealor) will appreciate having his mom back, or maybe Diane (Susan Walters) is telling the truth, and she’s a changed woman. We asked Soap Hub fans what they believe about Diane’s return, and here’s what you said.

Y&R: Get Lost

No, thank you, 53% of fans are practically spitting. Diane is nothing but trouble. Sure, she’s fun and calculating and has a history with half the canvas and gave Jack (Peter Bergman) something to do other than play doting grandpa for the first time in years. But that’s no reason to keep her around. There’s only room for one scheming redhead in town. And Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has the position well in hand.

Young and the Restless: What Do You Want?

That depends on why Diane is really here, 28% of you hedge. If it really is just to reconnect with Kyle, that’s one thing. But if she’s here to make Jack, or, God forbid, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) even vaguely discomfited, then we are not here for it.

Soaps are so much better when everyone is happy, content with their lot, madly in love, and not stirring any trouble. Can you imagine what it would be like if someone who actually wanted to cause drama moved to Genoa City for good?

Bring It in Genoa City

Seems like only 19% of the audience is here for the drama. It’s been so dull lately, with everyone obsessing over Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) or little Dominic Of the Many Names. And, of course, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Always Connor Newman.

Diane is finally promising juicy story for the Abbotts…and maybe even a few other people, too. She could really turn this town upside down. We’ve been waiting patiently for what feels like forever.
