When Victoria Newman and Nicholas Newman thought they’d killed Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless, they called not the paramedics, not 911, but police officer Chance Chancellor — because he’s married to their sister.
They knew he’d be discreet. And make sure no Newman ever got implicated for anything. But should upstanding, moral, legally responsible Chance (Conner Floyd) actually recuse himself from the case altogether? What almost 4,000 fans told us:
Chance (Conner Floyd) seems to be the only cop left at the Genoa City Police Department now that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) is dead and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) is…somewhere else.
Which is why 57% of you believe it’s Chance’s responsibility to get to the bottom of what really happened to The Locke Ness Monster. And what better position from which to help out his newfound family? Surely, nothing is more important than accommodating the Newmans, is it?
Ashland (Robert Newman) was a terrible person, 35% of voters shrug, so who cares what happened to him? Whether Nick (Joshua Morrow) bashed his brains in while protecting Victoria (Amelia Heinle), or whether Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) thugs spirited the half-dead man away, stuffed him in his car, and rolled him into the river, what does it matter? Ashland deserves to die. Justice was served, and Chance will only make matters worse.
A last place 8% have no idea what would be best for the Newmans — or for Chance. Surely, he doesn’t want to upset Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), or their still settling new family.
There are way too many drawbacks to Chance butting in where police noses don’t belong. He should just sign up off on a report that says death by misadventure and let his family put this entire tragedy behind them.
