It was a classic soap opera cliffhanger on The Young and the Restless when Chance Chancellor and Amanda Sinclair walked in on a post-coital Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor and Devon Hamilton, nearly naked on the couch.

Amanda (Mishael Morgan) read Devon (Bryton James) the riot act and walked out for good. You go, girl! Chance (Conner Floyd) was more frowny, but equally certain his relationship was over. Is it, though? Would this be a good time for Chance to forget…and forgive?
Y&R: Put a Pin In It
This marriage was awkward from the start, 57% of fans remind. Both Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance sounded more interested in becoming parents than husband and wife. And then Chance was willing to let Abby believe he was dead rather than come back to her.
They clashed over Dominic, they clashed over Chance’s job, and they clashed over Abby’s family. Abby sleeping with Devon was just the excuse both needed to pull the plug on this slowly dying mess. Not only should Chance not forgive her, but he also should never speak of it again.

Chance Chancellor: Zigging Instead of Zagging
Breaking up would be so predictable, 25% of voters lament. We’ve seen this soap opera story play out a million times. What would actually be interesting is to see a young couple not throw in the towel, to fight for their marriage, and to come out stronger on the other side of it. They’ve both made mistakes, and they’ve both had to swallow their pride. Why not give it another shot? You might be pleasantly surprised!
Young & Restless: Mitigating Factors
Does Abby want Devon, a last-place 18% wonder? Because if she does, then it’s game over. If not, if she’s willing to sever all contact with him — which is tricky with a baby involved — then yes, maybe there’s still a chance this marriage could be saved. And we might even get an interesting story out of it, to boot!
