My Two Young and the Restless Dads: Can Ashland Be Trusted With Harrison?

Now that Kyle Abbott and Harrison Locke are back in Genoa City on The Young and the Restless, Ashland Locke is eager to see the son he allowed Kyle to take to Italy while Ashland dealt with his cancer. Hey, remember when Ashland couldn’t breathe in front of Harrison…and also while he was alone and no one was watching?

Boy, he really committed to that faking his diagnosis thing, huh! Almost like he was doing it for our benefit. (Or like this story was not well planned out). But now that Ashland (Robert Newman) has been outed as an opportunist who married Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) for her Daddy’s company, can Kyle (Michael Mealor) trust his co-parent with their son? What nearly 2,000 voters said:

Ashland is a lying liar who lies, 55% of you assert, which means Kyle shouldn’t let him near the boy. Kyle, who had an affair with Harrison’s (Kellen Enriquez) mother while she was married to Ashland, and who originally came back to Genoa City plotting with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) against his own father is a much more honest, trustworthy, and upstanding person.

Young and the Restless: Love is Love

Ashland loves Harrison, 31% counter. He would never do anything to hurt him. Ashland gave up Harrison because he thought it would be better for the tot. And with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) in jail, Ashland is the only connection Harrison has to the life he was ripped out of for the benefit of the adults around him.

Y&R: Split Decision

Finally, 14% aren’t sure. Especially since Ashland holds all the power in this relationship. He is Harrison’s legal parent. Kyle only has physical custody due to Ashland’s generosity. Ashland could grab the kid at any time and go back to New York. The fact that he hasn’t done so yet is actually a testament to Ashland putting Harrison’s needs ahead of his own.
