On The Young and the Restless, Victoria Newman Locke informed her family that they should step off — she can handle Ashland Locke all on her own. But is the stubborn heiress biting off more than she can chew?
Of course she’s up to the challenge, 52% of the audience is suffering no qualms. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is a strong, independent woman who manages to run a major corporation and raise two kids (she doesn’t talk much about the third one and the younger pair are in boarding school, but, you know, we’re sure she pays all their tuition bills on time). Oh, and she’s Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) daughter. That’s the main reason you assume she’s got this.
A smaller 37% of The Young and the Restless audience wouldn’t want you to think that you don’t have ultimate faith…in Victor’s DNA…but just in case not enough of his ruthless qualities got passed down genetically, you think Victoria should ask for help…from Victor. After all, the idea that any of Victor’s kids might be capable of achieving success on their own is…unsettling. To both, you and Newman Sr. Victor is always right, and Victor always wins. Wouldn’t Victoria want a track record like that on her side?
Even before Ashland (Robert Newman) came to Genoa City, his reputation as the Locke Ness Monster preceded him. Victor may run Wisconsin, but Ashland is from New York. You know, the…if you can make it there you can make it anywhere place. Victor knew he couldn’t beat Ashland fairly, which is why he resorted to extortion and attempted murder. The point is, if Victor wasn’t up to the challenge of besting Ashland, what possible chance could wee Victoria have, 11% are sad to report.
