Hard To Say I’m Sorry: Will Y&R’s Phyllis Summers Forgive Daughter Summer?

On The Young and the Restless, after giving her mother multiple warnings, Summer Newman Abbott finally got tired of Phyllis Summers breaking her word again and again, and fired her. Phyllis was furious, shrieking about how she’d given up everything to work with Summer – and not in order to bring down Diane Jenkins. Now, Summer is siding with her husband and his horrid mother over her own horrid mother. Will Phyllis ever be able to forgive her?

The Young and the Restless Polling: That Depends

The Diane (Susan Walters) war is far from over, and 7% of you are withholding your judgment until the fat lady has actually sung. If Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) turns out to be the threat Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) think he is, then Phyllis may need to eat crow and admit she was in the wrong. But if this ends in anything less than bloody carnage, Phyllis will continue to claim she’s the true victim. And refuse to absolve her daughter of responsibility.

Y&R: I Told You So

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) will only forgive Summer (Allison Lanier) once she can say I Told You So, according to 44% of viewers. As soon as she is utterly vindicated and Diane has been kicked to the curb, spat on, and forced to beg Phyllis’s pardon for daring to breathe the same air as her, then she will magnanimously open her arms and welcome prodigal daughter Summer back to the fold.

The Young and the Restless: Family First

Almost half of the voters, 49%, expect Phyllis to get over her snit eventually. She loves her daughter, and it’s not like she has a lot of people willing to cut her slack the way Summer does. She will eventually realize she is all alone without Summer, and tell her daughter she forgives her for not wanting her family put in danger.
