Going Down: Will Nick Fall Apart on The Young and the Restless?

Pretty much every member of Nicholas Newman’s The Young and the Restless family has killed a person. Nikki Newman has two lives on her conscience. Adam Newman has one. Even Victoria Newman thought she killed her ex-husband a few years back.

And we don’t even know how many bodies Victor Newman has buried on his ranch. Literally. Yet, Nick is having trouble dealing with the fact that he killed Ashland Locke while defending his sister. Will this cause the mini-mogul to break down?

All Good In Genoa City

He’ll be fine, 47% of you predict. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) are always there to tell him he did nothing wrong, and even Adam (Mark Grossman) had some helpful tips to deal with the very common Genoa City experience. Plus, there’s ex-wife Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), the licensed therapist who is happy to work for free, and all of his other fellow killer friends. Heck, he might even start feeling bad that he only killed in self-defense rather than as part of a well put together revenge plot! Amateur hour, Nick!

I Can Do It Myself Young and the Restless Style

Sharon predicted that Nick wouldn’t seek help for his feelings, and 28% of voters agree with her. Nick is from the I Can Handle This school of thought — he learned it from Daddy. He’ll pout, and he’ll whine, and he’ll wallow, but he won’t actually pay anyone to listen to him do it. We knew Newman was too cheap to shell out for a livable health plan!

Who Knows Y&R

A full quarter of the audience, 25%, has no idea what Nick will do. Maybe because we don’t really understand what’s bothering him. Yes, killing a man is traumatic, but he’s admitted it, he’s not suppressing his feelings as little Adam did. Maybe the issue here is his guilt over what Victor did next, not what Nick did initially.
