The Young and the Restless stars Sean Dominic and Brytni Sarpy have quite a bit going on in Genoa City these days with their on-screen alter egos, Nate Hastings and Elena Dawson, attempting to work things out with their relationship. This dynamic duo also has something big going on away from daytime too — a new film called The Prince of Detroit directed by Damon Dash.

Sean Dominic and Brytni Sarpy In Prince of Detroit

Dominic took to Instagram to share some photos and video of the cast (which you can see below) and details about screening their new movie at the Detroit Film Festival.

“Twas a good time last night screening @theprinceofdetroitfilm. Got a chance to play a character I don’t typically get casted for. Was a lot of fun working with these great actors. Thanks @faizonlove for the constant laughter on set. 😂😂. Thanks @brytni for thinking of ya boy!” read his caption.

“You kilt itttt bruv 🖤” Sarpy replied to her co-star.

The images show both Sarpy and Dominic with a bit more gray in their hair than usual, which might give something of a hint into the characters they portray in the movie. Some Instagram users responded with how much the gray tripped them out.

Soap Hub previously reported that The Prince of Detroit is based on the true story of Tony Fox, who was the son of America’s first Black HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) owners.

According to the movie’s website, “Along with their hospital and several other business ventures, Tony’s Mother (Sydney)and Step-father (Harlow) are deemed Detroit’s King and Queen, making Tony the Prince. When his parents are betrayed and conspired against, they’re left with nothing. A young Tony must do away with his entitlement then use both his parents’ teachings and experiences to regain their fortune and restore his position as ‘The Prince of Detroit.'”

In the movie, Brytni Sarpy portrays Sydney Barkay –Tony’s mother. It’s unclear what character Sean Dominic brings to life. You can check out the official trailer below.
