Chance Chancellor and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor are likely splitting up on The Young and the Restless. Recently, their portrayers, Conner Floyd and Melissa Ordway, got a little testy, albeit playfully, amid their on-screen alter ego’s split.
Floyd shared the Y&R video clip of Chance telling a distraught Abby that he thought they should get a divorce as soon as possible. The actor captioned it, “What should Chance’s tinder [an online dating app] profile say…”
Viewers weighed in, but so did, notably Ordway. She replied simply, “Cut throat,” giving a bit of insight, perhaps, into Abby’s feelings on the whole thing. Of course, Abby might be failing to realize how deeply painful her sleeping with Dominic’s biological father, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), was for Chance.
To show it was all in good fun, Conner Floyd replied with a heart kiss emoji. Of course, some fans had other ideas — some quite clever — for Chance’s theoretical Tinder profile.
“Second Chance at romance,” quipped Instagram user rocketqueen2020.
User janicebowen replied, “Take a Chance…I’m worth it!!”
In a similar take, another fan elaborated on how they felt about the whole thing. “Take a Chance, I am totally worth it. 😉😏” wrote ashsoapfan1985. “Abby should have treated you better! 👏 She knew you loved your job being a law enforcement officer b4 she married you! —– I do love you and Melissa together but I think Abby and Chance need a break. . — Abby and Devon are definitely a lot closer than they thought. . Haha 😄 🤣”
Becboo22 wrote, “Chance can romance, dance 💃 and fly you to France 🇫🇷!!! I hope writers bring a hot detective for you to work with, been a while since you’ve worked a case 👏😂”
Of course, other viewers expressed their hope that Abby and Chance would attempt marriage counseling and stay together. Whether they do that remains to be seen, but for now, their divorce seems inevitable. We hear that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is single…hmm.
