The Talk hosted The Young and the Restless star Melody Thomas Scott recently. During her visit promoting the soap’s upcoming crossover with The Bold and the Beautiful, the actress reflected on her on-screen alter ego’s storied life in Genoa City.
Melody Thomas Scott Talks Nikki Newman
During the actress’s appearance on the CBS talker, she shared her thoughts about portraying Genoa City’s iconic matriarch, Nikki Newman. “Nikki has been such a fascinating role to play because she’s got to be almost so many different people under the guise of one. And that has made it not boring for me, let’s say that, and I have had so many storylines over the years.”
However, the actress says that something specific about Nikki truly defines the soap for her. “But you know what is the most important to me is the continuing love story of Victor Newman [Eric Braeden] and Nikki. That, to me, is the essence of Genoa City.”
Of course, throughout all the years on The Young and the Restless, Melody Thomas Scott and her character Nikki have not had a crossover onto The Bold and the Beautiful. The Talk co-host and uber soap fan, Sheryl Underwood, noted that fact would change within the next two weeks when Nikki ends up in Los Angeles as part of Y&R’s 50th season anniversary celebration. Underwood asks, “How much fun is Nikki going to have?”
Thomas Scott teased, “Well, I can’t tell you that right now, at this moment, you have to watch.” You can see Melody Thomas Scott on The Talk in the video below. What do you want to see when she ends up in L.A. — let us know in the comments below.
