The Young and the Restless star Courtney Hope teamed up with the Breaking The Chains Foundation with a message during National Suicide Prevention Month. She is an ambassador with the organization.
Courtney Hope Shares A Message For Suicide Prevention Month
The Sally Spectra actress speaks out in a serious video about suicide prevention. She offers empathy and tips for people on how to help others who have lost hope. The Breaking The Chains Foundation posted the video, which you can see below.
“#BTCF Board and Celebrity Ambassador Courtney Hope shares a heartfelt, personal, and informative message for National Suicide Prevention Month. Thank you Courtney❤️ @thecourtneyhope #988 #september #nationalsuicidepreventionmonth #help #connect #listen #support #youarenotalone,” reads the caption on the heartfelt video.
Hope points out that there is help, and she also reminds everyone that they have the ability to help others — to intervene — when somebody feels they have nothing left to lose. She notes several times that the number to get help in the United States is 988.
“Having dealt with anxiety and depression myself in life and having gone through extreme moments of feeling helpless and worthless, I know that everything in life changes,” Courtney Hope says. “The tides come and go, and sometimes in those moments, it’s hard to see that. Just remember there’s always help.”
The Y&R actress also gives five tips for helping others and encourages people to take the time every day to nourish their mental health.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day. There is always help available via text, chat, or talk.
