Victoria Rowell Honors Her Foster Parents

“Two amazing people, Sylvia (89) & Maurice Silverman (90s) who significantly shaped my life as mentors & loving foster parents,” wrote the actress in her caption. “Spending time together in Kennebunkport, Maine for their granddaughter’s wedding! #Family is what you make it💗”
Many friends and fans responded to Victoria Rowell in the comments. They had uplifting and positive things to say about the photo and the sentiment she shared. Many revealed that they felt inspired by Rowell’s family experiences.
Y&R’s Foster Family History
In Y&R, Rowell’s character, Dru, adopted Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) with her husband Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) when he was a young man. The adoption came after he lived with them and their daughter Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) as a foster child. Rowell was a big proponent of showing positive images of foster care on her soap. Throughout the years, the CBS daytime drama featured stories of families fostering children or characters who came from foster care.
