The Young and the Restless alum Sasha Calle, who portrayed Lola Rosales on the CBS soap and has since gone on to become Supergirl, recently experienced a happy full-circle moment.
The actress took to Instagram to share something great that recently happened to her while walking around in Los Angles, passing by the Larchmont magazine stand. She saw a V Magazine that featured photos of her inside.
Along with two photos, Calle captioned her post, “I remember moving to LA in 2014 and passing by the Larchmont magazine stand. A teenage kid with big dreams. Thank you [Hedi Slimane] & @vmagazine. I bought my first mag off that Larchmont stand. X”
Sasha Calle appeared recently in V Magazine alongside several other new stars in an article written by Heidi Slimane. “Representation in the entertainment industry really matters, and I’m super honored, honestly [to be the first Latina Supergirl],” said Calle. There was a moment when we were shooting, when Andy [The Flash director Andrés Muschietti] was like, ‘Hey, come over here and watch this scene on the playback monitor.’ And I go over and I see her [Supergirl], and she’s in her full glory. And suddenly, I got really emotional.”
Although Lola’s name has come up several times recently because of her brother Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) death, it seems unlikely the chef and ex-wife of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will return to Genoa City anytime soon. With none of the Rosales family members left on-screen, there’s not much reason for Lola to return, which is sad news for her fans. Of course, the good news for Sasha Calle fans is that she’s starring as Supergirl in two upcoming films, so look out for her on the silver screen.
