Kevin Schmidt was playing Noah on Young and the Restless when the character plunged into an icy lake that took the life of his rescuer, Brad Carlton. Now, Schmidt is taking a different kind of plunge as he’s engaged to be married.
Schmidt shared the news of his engagement to Laura Fletcher, a veterinarian, on Instagram. “The best things in life take time,” the actor shared in a post, dated May 5, that can be seen below. “From a happenstance meeting on the boardwalk a year ago, to our first date last September, it’s amazing what real love can create. #cincodemayo forever.”
“Whoaaa!!!!! Congrats man!!!!! Super exciting!!!” enthused Dustin Bolt, a music producer/songwriter.
As Y&R viewers may recall, Schmidt’s Noah was involved with Eden (Vanessa Marano). The teens slept together but the couple’s romance never really took off or was developed despite their ties to prominent families. Eden is the half-sister of Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc).
Kevin Schmidt began his career as a youngster, appearing in the films Cheaper by the Dozen, The Butterfly Effect, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, and American Wrestler.
In addition to appearing on Y&R on and off from 2008 to 2012. His other TV credits include NCIS, BONES, Numbers, Without A Trace, King of Queens, CSI: NY, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Monk.
Schmidt’s also enjoyed a successful career behind the scenes, too. He produced, directed, and sold a dance-instructional DVD to STARZ Media. He starred in, wrote, and produced the feature film Randy’s Canvas, which won an award from the Autism Society. Soap Hub sends congratulations to the happy couple.
