The Young and the Restless alum Eva LaRue and her daughter got justice when their stalker of 12 years was sentenced to prison recently.
Eva LaRue Gets Justice At Long Last
Deadline reported that the Daytime Emmy winner for playing Celeste Rosales, and her daughter with the late John Callahan (Edmund Grey, All My Children), Kaya McKenna Callahan, endured 12 years of stalking from James David Rogers, 58. Recently the mother/daughter duo received justice when a district judge sentenced Rogers to 40 months in federal prison.
U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt’s ruling came after Rogers pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking, two counts of mailing threatening communication, and one count of threats by interstate communication. Kronstadt also said Rogers’s actions were “inexcusable.”
Sadly for Eva LaRue and her daughter, these threats continued from March 2007 until Rogers’s arrest in November 2019. Kaya was just 5 years old when Rogers began his stalking. Throughout the years, Rogers sent at least 37 letters, which were typed or handwritten, threatening the actress and her child, signing them using the alias “Freddie Kruger.”
However, the threats didn’t stop there because, in 2019, Rogers escalated it by contacting Kaya’s school, pretending to be her father and leaving other threats via voicemail.
In her victim impact statement, the actress revealed that she’d been in therapy due to the stalking, and she said, “We didn’t know if he would show up on our doorstep. We will think about him for a lifetime. The fear is with me forever.”
Rogers apologized to the actress, and his prison sentence is set to begin on Oct. 12 in Ohio.
