It looks like Genoa City is set to welcome home another blast from the past when Michael Damian makes his return to The Young and the Restless as Danny Romalotti, a role he originated in 1981. The news comes amid Y&R’s big 50th season celebration.
Michael Damian Returning to Y&R as Danny Romalotti
Soap Opera Digest reported that Damian will return to the CBS daytime drama just in time for the holidays this December. You can expect to see Phyllis Summers’s (Michelle Stafford) ex starting on December 22, 2022. The announcement comes after news hit that Michael Graziadei, who portrays Phyllis’s son Daniel Romalotti, will also return to the storyline soon.
Damian portrayed Danny until 1998, and he’s occasionally returned for big events over the past several decades, including in 2013 for Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) memorial. He hasn’t been back for a significant storyline, though.
Shortly after news of Damian’s return, Stafford tweeted a sweet photo of herself with him with the caption, “When love walks in the room everybody stand up… oh it’s good good good…” #YR
It’s unclear if his return will overlap at all with Graziadei’s. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
