Here’s Why A Better Lily Returned To Y&R

Lily is back on The Young and the Restless, and the good people of Genoa City are starting to suspect that maybe she isn’t quite the woman who left. Here’s how Lily has changed, both professionally and personally, and here’s why she’s better than ever despite making a rash decision yesterday.

Take This Job And….

Once upon a time, Lily (Christel Khalil, who recently shared this with fans) was a fashion model. Then she went to prison, where she found out she enjoyed helping others. Somehow, that meant taking over Jill’s (Jess Walton) company, which she was somehow qualified to do.

Then Lily decided to merge the company she didn’t own with the one her brother inherited from their father. However, she kept taking a back seat to most of Devon’s (Bryton James) decisions. Now that her ex, Billy (Jason Thompson), is also flinging around demands, Lily has had enough.

Listen up, boys, Lily is back and, this time, she will be way more assertive. She started with firing Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather (Vail Bloom). Sure, their work has been good. But Heather slept with Daniel while Lily was away. That may not be a valid reason to fire someone in the real world. But considering the nonsense that goes on at Newman Enterprises regarding hiring and firing, Lily is the least of Genoa City’s Labor Board’s concerns.

It’s Raining Men

Lily cut Billy loose when it was obvious that he was more interested in the mess that was Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) than in the competent, together woman that is Lily. Now, she didn’t bother groveling to Daniel, either. You want your ex, dude, you run along and go back to having breakfast with your ex.

Lily can do better. There are plenty of single men in Genoa City who might actually appreciate a woman like Lily. There’s Nick (Joshua Morrow). There’s Chance (Conner Floyd). There’s Adam (Mark Grossman). There’s Kyle (Michael Mealor). Heck, there’s even Tucker (Trevor St. John). We had no idea what business stuff he was trying to pull with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and with Audra (Zuleyka Silver). He might as well try to do something vague with Lily, too. Maybe we’d care, then.

The point is, Lily is back with a whole new attitude, and we’re digging it. How about you? What are your thoughts on Lily’s return? Let us know in the comments below.
