Christel Khalil (who revealed her son’s nursery) is back as Lily on The Young and the Restless, and her character’s return to Genoa City was dramatic. Lily learned that Daniel and Heather had an affair while she was away helping Mattie, and she wasn’t at all happy with that news.
A Woman Scorned
Of course, there’s another minor detail that neither Heather (Vail Bloom) nor Daniel (Michael Graziadei) seemed to consider. Lily (Christel Khalil) is their boss at Chancellor-Winters. Y&R spoilers for next week showed that it looks like Lily is reconsidering their employment, which could spell doom for the newly reunited couple before they even get started.
Khalil discussed the situation with her on-screen alter ego with TV Insider. “She knew that Heather was interested in Daniel and that she probably would want to be back together with him, but I don’t think she thought that Daniel would also want to be back together with Heather,” noted Khalil. “So, I think she was just feeling kind of insecure about Heather [before she left], but trusting in her and Daniel’s relationship. Coming back and seeing what she sees is kind of like, ‘I knew this was gonna happen.'”

As viewers saw, Lily wasn’t pleased to learn what Daniel and Heather did behind her back. Her reaction was still fairly subdued, though. However, Khalil teased that Lily’s revenge might come after a slow burn ignites to fury. “She’s hurt by what happened, but also trying to be really levelheaded about everything. As time goes on, it hits her more and more, how horrible it really all was,” she said.
The actress is happy to be back on Y&R, bringing a whole new Lily to Genoa City. “I am excited to start a new storyline with Lily,” she teased. “She’s taking charge. I think people are going to see a different side of Lily. There’s going to be a lot of drama for sure, but it’s going to be fun to see something that people haven’t really seen before when it comes to Lily and how she deals with things.”
