Phyllis fell gravely ill on the Monday, March 10 episode of The Young and the Restless. Sharon freaked out. Their captor gloated. But is anything with Phyllis ever what it seems? Here are three plays she could be making to gain the upper hand over them all:
Fake It Till You Make It
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was so tired of the conversation she and Sharon (Sharon Case) were having about Phyllis forgiving Sharon that she faked illness just to stop talking. We suspected it was play-acting when she claimed to be nauseous but acted like she had cramps and then screamed that her stomach was on fire.
Those are three different things. You’d think a person who was actually sick would be consistent.

It Takes Two
This is actually a plot Sharon and Phyllis came up with together in order to throw their captor off-guard. They faked the fight about how they’d never get along — after all, are we supposed to believe they’d really be having the same conversation repeatedly? To what purpose? — to lull their kidnapper into thinking his plan was working while they were really in control AND getting answers out of him simultaneously.
Phyllis wasn’t really sick, but they figured if the guard thought she was, he’d get cocky and accidentally let something slip about who he was and what he wanted.

Old Faithful
And then there’s the soap stand-by. Nausea of soaps can only mean one thing: Phyllis is pregnant. Sure, she’s the mother of two grown kids, a grandmother twice over, if you count Summer (Allison Lanier) always claiming Harrison (Redding Munsell) as, “My son, my son, my son.”
But Phyllis is still young and virile. Did you see her doing all those jumping jacks? Phyllis is totally vibrant enough to get pregnant. And this isn’t poison at all.
