During the May 14 episode of The Young and the Restless, Diane had a nightmare in which Patty ended up with Jack. The soap might’ve teased the biggest warning sign in the show’s history.

Key Takeaways

  • Diane had nightmares about Patty and Jack together.
  • Jack recruits Patty to get her to admit that Victor drugged him.
  • Diane’s worst nightmare could come true: their marriage is beyond repair.

Diane’s Wild Nightmare

Diane (Susan Walters) moved out of the Abbott mansion and has been staying at the GCAC suite, all by herself. She spent most of her time in her room, thinking about Jack (Peter Bergman). She recalled the time when she slapped him after she caught him in bed with Patty (Stacy Haiduk).

Diane wanted to push the thoughts from her mind. She tried to read a book, but decided to call Jack instead. Her call went to voicemail. Instead of hanging up, she left a message. She told him she was still hurt but loved him and wanted them to move forward.

Diane fell asleep on the couch and had a nightmare about searching for Jack at the Abbott mansion. When she saw him, she told him that she wanted to go back to the way things were before Victor (Eric Braeden) used Patty to destroy their marriage.

Jack warned her that he had already moved on. Patty stepped out and kissed Jack. Jack shared that Patty moved into the mansion. They found the daughter they miscarried, and now they’re the family they were meant to be.

Jack Recruits Patty

Diane’s nightmare could become a reality. Jack wanted to get Patty on his side. He found her sulking at the bar at Society. He turned on the charm, asking her if the seat next to her was taken.

Patty was shocked that Jack wanted to sit next to her. She didn’t want to be bothered or harassed, especially after running into his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson). Jack assured her that he didn’t want to do that. Patty complained that no one believed she had changed.

Jack noted that she wanted to stay in town to prove herself. Patty was surprised by Jack’s sudden kindness. He used this moment to see whether Patty would confess to Victor about using her to destroy his marriage. However, she claimed that they probably were both drugged, even if that night was “magical.”

Patty appreciated the fact that Jack came to her for help. Jack teased that if she was willing to help him get revenge on Victor, it could allow him to change his feelings toward her. If that’s the case, then Diane’s worst nightmare could come true.
