We’ve seen so many versions of Ashland Locke in Y&R spoilers — and we don’t just mean Richard Burgi and Robert Newman, the two actors who’ve played him.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
We mean the ruthless businessman, the cuckold husband, the terminally ill patient, the heartbroken father, the master manipulator, and the hopeless romantic. Dude needs to pick a lane. And since all of his personality shifts have been triggered by women, we think we know exactly who he needs to make Ashland finally walk the straight and narrow.
Young and the Restless: Look What You Made Me Do
When he was with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), a woman who lied to him and cheated on him and almost brought down his company, Ashland was a liar and a cheat who almost brought down Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) company.
When he was with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who truly loved him and showed him how she could love a child who wasn’t biologically hers, Ashland seemed to really love her back and realized that he was still Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) father, no matter what.
But Victoria was Newman, and she was a schemer, wheeler-dealer. So that’s who Ashland was with her. Business became his most important focus, the same way that it was for Victoria.
Y&R Spoilers: Follow My Lead
What Ashland needs is to be with a truly good person who will, in turn, bring out the best in him. There is only one truly good person in Genoa City: And that’s Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
The woman not only kept smiling bravely when various men cheated on her, she proved herself to be the ultimate saint when, after Victor was partially responsible for her beloved daughter, Colleen Carlton’s, death, Traci still allowed Victor to get her transplanted heart. Instead of, you know, just standing there and watching him flatline.
If Traci could rise above that, she could teach Ashland to rise above anything. Oh, and just in case she doesn’t…she also has a family company ripe for a takeover. And wouldn’t Ashland love to take something important away from Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor)?
