Young and the Restless Team-Up: A Life Change For Traci and Sharon

If we believe what The Young and the Restless keeps telling us, Traci Abbott is an uber-successful author who is constantly jetting off to New York City to discuss the latest best-seller she threw together in an afternoon with her publisher, while Sharon Rosales manages to run a thriving coffee-house while completing a Master’s in psychology in her spare time — and being supermom to not just her biological children, but also to Christian, the little boy she kidnapped…for a little while.

A Young and the Restless Change

So why are these two fascinating women spending the bulk of their days listening to other people whine?

Y&R: Talk To Me

Sure, every time someone snivels to Traci (Beth Maitland) she gets a book out of it. And Sharon (Sharon Case) has made some helpful referrals to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) for Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), and to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). So they’re not completely useless. Just…mostly.

Young and the Restless: Hop In

What if both these women were to throw caution to the wind, hop in a convertible, and head off for adventure…a la Thelma and Louise? They could be a… mobile advice-giving unit. They’d stop in small towns (small towns unlike Genoa City, without three major international conglomerates and an international airport) and help folks with their problems.

Sharon could use her therapist’s degree. And Traci could use it for literary fodder. (Which is slightly unethical, but that never stopped her before). Sure, they’d be doing the same thing on the road as they’ve been doing in Genoa City. But it would be a story of their own. They’d be driving it, acting instead of reacting.

As for Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), he’s been looking as bored in his marriage as of late, as we’re all feeling. And Traci has obviously run out of romantic candidates at home. Time to hit the open road and find excitement! If anything…anyone sticks, bring them back to liven up Genoa City!
