Mariah Copeland is a mom now, so everything has changed...right?
On The Young and the Restless, Mariah Copeland admitted to Kyle that she hadn’t been doing this parenthood thing for all that long — that’s OK, neither has he, really — but, the way Mariah saw it, your first obligation was to protect your kid and put their interests ahead of your own.
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) claimed Kyle (Michael Mealor) wasn’t doing that with Harrison…whom Kyle had just described as Summer’s (Allison Lanier) son, and we’re all supposed to pretend had been true all along. But what if Mariah is soon forced to do the same thing? How will she feel then?
There is no doubt that Mariah and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) adore their new little bundle of joy, Aria. Or, we assume they do. It’s not like we actually see them do that — or anything — much. And there is no doubt that Mariah and Tessa would say that they’d do anything to protect their kid and put her interests ahead of their own. But will they actually do it?
We may get a chance to find out — sooner rather than later. Sharon (Sharon Case) is in serious danger from Cameron (Linden Ashby). She and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are convinced enough to send Faith (Reylynn Caster) away, and Nick is even willing to generously hand a pregnant Sally (Courtney Hope) to Adam (Mark Grossman) for the time being. So what if the same extends to Mariah and Aria?
If Cameron is targeting those close to Sharon, then her first grandchild is fair game. Aria should probably be taken out of Genoa City, too. And it makes sense if her mom, who isn’t related to Sharon does that, leaving Mariah behind to keep Aria even safer. Would Mariah agree to give up her wife and child? Even if it is what’s best for Aria?
