It’s no secret that The Young and the Restless fans adore Sharon Case and her on-screen alter ego, Sharon Rosales née Collins, ever since she first appeared onscreen back in 1994.

Everybody Loves Sharon Case As Sharon

Although she’s been through a lot over the years, everybody loves the down-to-earth Crimson Lights owner. Now that she’s a bonafide therapist, the residents of Genoa City not only stop by for a solid cup of Joe but also some compassionate talk therapy from Sharon. Sure, it’s a wee bit unconventional, but that’s not too surprising given her life thus far.

Currently, she’s grieving the death of her husband of just over one year, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), and long-time fans of “Shick” are happy to see her leaning on her ex-husband, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Probably one of the biggest reasons why Sharon Case is beloved on the show is that she’s been through so much since she first appeared in Genoa City on September 7, 1994. She and Nick soon became a thing much to his mother, Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) displeasure.

Of course, as is typical for all the longest-lasting and best soap opera characters, Sharon has been through a lot over the years. She’s a recent breast cancer survivor (which is what made her so furious at Ashland Locke’s [Robert Newman] deception), but before that she overcame a lot more.

She and Nick lost their daughter Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes), and that heartbreaking storyline might just be the thing that cemented her as a fan favorite. Before that, she had her brushes with the law, like when she pushed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) down a stairwell and when she burned down the Newman Ranch house.

Sharon also thought she lost Faith Newman (now Reylynn Caster) when Adam Newman (now Mark Grossman) gaslighted his stepmother Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and passed Faith off as Ashley’s baby, making Sharon believe her baby had died.

There are lots of quirky things about Sharon too that viewers love. For instance, many like that she still lives on the Newman Ranch despite all the drama between her and Nikki, and her home’s decor has remained the same for quite some time, making it feel like home.

She’s been knocked down repeatedly, but through it all, actress Sharon Case has continued to move us and make us root for her character as she managed to (mostly) remain a grounded and compassionate person who now serves as one of the hearts and consciences of Genoa City.
