When Ashland Locke asked to spend some time on The Young and the Restless with the boy he’d raised from birth, Kyle Abbott and, especially, Summer Newman Abbott, got on their high horses and informed Ashland that, thanks to his cancer lie, they have no intention of ever letting little Harrison Locke anywhere near his “Father.” Why that’s a very, very bad idea on their part.
Young and the Restless: In the Eyes of the Law
The name on Harrison’s (Kellen Enriquez) birth certificate says Father: Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). He was married to Harrison’s mother, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) at the time of his birth and, legally, is the only father Harrison has. Ashland allowed Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lanier) to take the boy to Milan with them. He can, at any moment, revoke that permission.
Calling Y&R Legal Department
Kyle has no legal standing in Harrison’s life — Summer even less. Ashland doesn’t even need to tell them what he has in mind. Ashland can walk into the park, pick up Harrison, jump into a cab, take it to the airport, get on a plane to anywhere in the world — including New York, where they’re initially from, and where any judge can see the child is more comfortable — and there will not be a single, legal thing Kyle can do about it. Under such circumstances, Kyle and Summer might want to be a wee bit nicer to the man.
Young and the Restless: Second Party
Especially now that it looks like Ashland has made a new friend — Kyle’s estranged mother, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Diane is desperate to get back into Kyle’s good graces. But Summer is urging him to keep his distance (guess she knows how possessive some crazy mothers can be).
If Diane can’t have her baby Kyle back, she might decide Harrison is the next best thing. At which point she and Ashland can both make off with the tot — and live happily ever after as a family. They both know how to hide their identities. Kyle and Summer wouldn’t stand a chance of tracking Harrison down.
