Remember Moses Winters and Faith Newman on The Young and the Restless? Yeah, we’re not sure if the show does. We understand that Faith is currently busy supporting her mom through the death of stepdad Rey Rosales and fan-girling her sister, Mariah Copeland’s wedding to Tessa Porter. But shouldn’t Moses be a bigger part of that?
The last time we saw Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) doing something even vaguely couple-ish was Valentine’s Day when they both angsted about getting each other a meaningful gift. Then they got them. And they beamed at each other. And that was the end of that. Yay?
Back in the day on daytime, May meant putting the finishing touches on what would be your hot, summer, young love story. By this time, we should have a sense of who Faith and Moses are, what they’re about, and what drama they’ll be facing once school is out. Currently, we’re just wondering where Moses has disappeared to.
Why isn’t he supporting his girlfriend (is she his girlfriend?) in her grief? Why isn’t he taking advantage of her sister’s wedding to bring them oh-so-much closer? Seeing more romance in the future for the young couple? Or just seeing a possible future for their love?
We’ve seen inklings of what might drive a wedge between the lovebirds. There’s Faith’s college search, how she’s decided she wants to be a ruthless mogul just like Grandpa and can’t understand why Moses isn’t applying to the exact same schools as she is.
There’s Moses deciding he’s ditching his medical dreams for a life in the music business – after Faith insisted he should follow his heart. That sounds like the kind of thing Moses’s mother might not take kindly to. The point is, we have the characters, we have the potential conflict. What we don’t have is…any story.
