Soap Hub Performer Of the Week For Y&R: Trevor St. John

The Young and the Restless viewers know that Tucker McCall is a man scorned after Ashley decided she couldn’t leave Jabot or her family. Now he’s back in Genoa City without her, and he has revenge on his mind. In fact, he wants to take Jabot away from the Abbotts. For his performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Tucker’s portrayer, Trevor St. John.

Trevor St. John: Y&R Performer of the Week

This week, a resentful Tucker returned to Genoa City without Ashley (Eileen Davidson) sparking lots of worry. St. John did an excellent job showcasing Tucker’s attitude when various members of Ashley’s family asked about the situation. He remained aloof and flippant in his attitude.

Of course, when Tucker and Devon (Bryton James) spoke, St. John showed a bit of Tucker’s vulnerable side, and Devon seemed convinced that his dad was heartbroken. Abby (Melissa Ordway), however, didn’t buy it, even though we seriously bought St. John’s performance.

When he and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) reconnected, they had their usual passion. St. John showcased the push and pull of the situation perfectly. He played the personal and scheming sides of the situation well, and nobody felt that these two were a love match or anything.

Finally, some of the best moments of St. John’s performance came when Tucker returned to his suite at the GCAC. He picked up the phone to call Ashley, and what started out as a reasonable message became an angry missive, with Tucker ultimately throwing his phone on the bed in disgust. Then, after some angsty moments and an aborted attempt at a drink, he grabbed the phone again and left a softer message for his estranged wife, wondering what went wrong.

Bravo, Trevor St. John, on an excellent performance. We cannot wait to see what comes next.
