The Young and the Restless viewers know that Amanda Sinclair has overcome a lot to get where she is, and during her struggles, she hasn’t put up with much nonsense. For her performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R are presented to Amanda’s portrayer, Mishael Morgan.

Mishael Morgan — Y&R Performer of the Week

Amanda was off the canvas for quite a while as she helped her ailing mother, and we sure did miss her portrayer, Mishael Morgan. With the news that Morgan moved to recurring, fans will see a whole lot less of Amanda, and the storyline that led to that is a doozy that allowed the actress to flex her Daytime Emmy award-winning skills.

Things started off with a bang when Amanda returned home, walking in on Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) in the aftermath of having sex on the couch. Morgan’s delivery of “what the hell” could not have been more perfect. Her tone of voice, her body language, and her facial expressions perfectly conveyed the shock and anger she felt at that moment.

Morgan hit every note perfectly in her fierce portrayal of Amanda’s betrayal. Later, when she spoke with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about things, the actress revealed a bit of Amanda’s vulnerability at having been so terribly treated after she’d finally put her trust into Devon and started to create a family with him after a childhood in foster care. In contrast to when she firmly put up walls while talking to Devon, Morgan revealed Amanda’s insecurities while talking to Phyllis. The tears shed and her stiff body language while looking in the mirror in the aftermath of her furious retelling of the story to her pal was quite the contrast, imbuing the character with all the realities of a woman betrayed.

Bravo, Mishael Morgan, on an excellent performance! We hope we haven’t seen the last of you or Amanda on Y&R.
