Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For Y&R: Christian Le Blanc

The Young and the Restless viewers know that Michael Baldwin is a staunch ally to his friends and family these days. Of course, his loyalty to Diane recently caused him some issues with Phyllis. For his performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Michael’s portrayer, Christian Le Blanc.

Christian Le Blanc: Y&R Performer of the Week

Le Blanc wasn’t on The Young and the Restless much this week. However, from the first moment Michael and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) walked into The Grand Phoenix and observed Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) drunkenly leaving her children voicemail messages, he nailed his scenes.

Although the situation was quite dire, Le Blanc managed to bring some levity to the moment through the comedic timing of his line delivery as well as his facial expressions. Michael’s pointed look at Lauren even caused a major meltdown from Phyllis, and the actor didn’t have to say any words.

Of course, Le Blanc really hit his mark when Phyllis went on and own about wanting Diane (Susan Walters) dead. Michael firmly told her that she couldn’t make those types of threats in public and get away with it despite Phyllis’s claim it was her first amendment right. Things rose to a fever pitch when Michael leaned forward and yelled to Phyllis that Diane was not the cause of all of her problems. Le Blanc’s furious facial expression, tense body language, and fiery tone of voice really sold the scene despite it having minimal effect on the already too far gone Phyllis.

While we don’t see as much of Michael and Christian Le Blanc on Y&R as we’d like to, we certainly enjoyed his appearance this week. Bravo on an absolutely amazing performance. We hope to see many more of them in the future!
