Soap Hub Performer of the Week for Y&R: Christel Khalil
 Comments

The Young and the Restless viewers know that Lily Winters is a strong businesswoman who tells it like it is after serving time in prison for Hilary Curtis’s death. So when Lily confronted Ashland Locke for allowing himself to be used by Adam Newman and Victor Newman, we loved it. We also appreciated seeing her tell Billy Abbott how she felt about him making a decision without her. For that, Soap Hub presents Performer of the Week honors for Y&R on Lily’s portrayer, Christel Khalil.

Christel Khalil – Performer Of The Week

After Lily received the lawsuit from Newman and Locke, she took matters into her own hands regarding Ashland (Richard Burgi). After a chance run-in at Society, Lily spoke her mind. While Ashland tried to act like Lily, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and ChancComm were totally to blame for using somebody like Jesse Gaines (Jameson James) as their sole source, Lily didn’t take his gaslighting sitting down. We loved Khalil’s performance when she firmly pointed out how Ashland allowed himself to be used as a pawn in Victor (Eric Braeden) and Adam’s (Mark Grossman) war against Billy. It seems she managed to hit a nerve, which is unusual with a business tycoon like Ashland.

Later, when Lily realized what Billy did by offering to quit ChancComm, Christel Khalil made us feel Lily’s fury at learning Billy left her alone to fend off the sharks. We love the fire Khalil brings to Lily, and we trust that she’ll always be able to fend for herself, even when it comes to a war with the Newmans.

Overall, Lily’s intense scenes this week left us wanting to see just how the latest battle between Billy and Adam plays out, and we also want to know if she’ll finally be the one to insist that Billy grows up.
