The last time that Devon Hamilton, Amanda Sinclair, Nate Hastings, and Elena Dawson got together for drinks on The Young and the Restless, Elena sure didn’t seem thrilled with her boyfriend’s decision to ditch medicine for corporate life, did she?
Young and the Restless Changes
And when was the last time Devon (Bryton James) talked to girlfriend Amanda (Mishael Morgan) about anything other than the baby he fathered for Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) — then decided he wanted to raise?
With two beautiful, intelligent, successful, and driven women feeling underwhelmed by their men, how long until we see both looking out for greener pastures…and seeing them just across the hall?
Y&R: Been There, Done That
Yes, this quad has already tried other possible combinations. Elena (Brytni Sarpy) was living with Devon when she decided to have shadow-puppet sex with Nate (Sean Dominic) after they saved a teen runaway from overdosing. And Amanda first dated Nate, while Devon was still in his “how dare you have my late wife’s face you must be evil” phase. But neither relationship worked out.
Young and the Restless: That Was Then, This Is Now
Elena’s original relationship with Devon didn’t work out because it was obvious he was still hung up on dearly departed Hilary — and, yeah, the cheating didn’t help. Amanda’s original relationship with Nate didn’t work out because it was obvious both were just going through the motions.
But things are different now. They all know each other better. Neither one thinks the person they’re with now is perfect. That’s a ripe combination for switching partners and seeing if they can trade up. The only question now is: Who will get pregnant first, and who will be the winner in the Who’s the Daddy sweepstakes coming to a TV set near you!
